Der Bürger muss nicht mutig sein, um Grundrechte wahrzunehmen. Ein Arbeitgeber muss nicht wissen, welche politische Partei sein Angestellter favorisiert. Für letztere Personengruppe benötigen wir einen neuen Gesundheitstarif, der nur in akuten Notfällen greift, also quantitativ und qualitativ deutlich geringer ausfällt.“ ➡️ Reddig macht seine Forderung davon abhängig, ob Finanzminister Klingbeil die Gesundheitskosten für Bürgergeld-Empfänger (aktuell 12 Mrd. von Beitragszahlern bezahlt) vollständig über Steuerzuschüsse deckt. Es müsse darüber gesprochen werden: „Entweder die Gesundheitskosten für Bürgergeld-Empfänger zu senken, zum Beispiel durch die Einführung eines günstigeren Basistarifs, oder die nötigen Spielräume zu schaffen.“ Angesichts der Zumutungen für Versicherte (u.a. Zuzahlungen bei Medikamenten, Kürzung des Krankengeldes oder auch das Streichen der kostenlosen Mitversicherung von Ehepartnern) halten die beiden Politiker die Anpassungen für eine Gerechtigkeitsfrage.
