Broad daylight. A Ring Camera. An audible voice scarecrow literally telling the thief he's being recorded. A cat giving him the side eye. All not to mention an inefficient flight vehicle that makes him stand out. And yet, he goes through with the theft anyway. It's almost as if something about our society has conditioned people to care less about consequence. ---

I can't be the only person who beat all the Windows problems of bloatware, telemetry, ads, loss of power control, etcetera, without converting to Linux, by finding a way to run Windows LTSC. All problems are beaten and all Windows apps I care about are running natively.

BuffScan never got the sense it was permanent in the first place, despite what appeared to be a concerted effort by the media to portray it all at the time as a new arm of local policing operations. Not that BuffScan poo-poos even a temporary effort - it was good and smart. Kudos to BPD. Rather it was (is) turned off by the fact that everyone was pretending something more about it than what it was. BuffScan Quarterback Policing Editorial: Police need to stop using phraseology like "We are no longer chasing" or "we are terminating the chase" when engaging in rubber wheel pursuits. Nobody stops "chasing" anyone. Today the chase ALWAYS continues even if in the form of cameras, FLOCK, radio spotting, or drones. Viewing the end of rubber wheel chases as "not chasing" only validates a rationale for running in the first place. Once runners realize it's as much about the knock at the door later, if not a tackle to the ground in the moment, they'll respect the teeth of law enforcement. Chases transform from rubber wheel into "track n' caps" and *that's* the phraseology citizens need to hear on their police scanners and in the media.
