On #HumanRights Day, let us commit to the principle of ‘combined leverage for good’ and strive to realize the human right to dignity, equality, and health for all, not just the elite few. @IAPAC @FTC2030

If poverty issues received a fraction of airtime and action that beta, delta, omicron received, we would undoubtedly be on our way to ending the pandemic @ViralCareAfrica @IAPAC

@LancetLab_ZA COVID 19 Antigen testing is LESS sensitive than PCR ( 56,2%) but highly specific. If using during the first 5 days in symptomatic patients then this is the ideal timing.

@LancetLab_ZA Rapid Antigen test is also known as a LFA Lateral Flow Assay. If the target protein is present in a sample, the antibodies will bind and produce a positive result. Line density will vary with concentration of the target

@LancetLab_ZA Some people may shed virus for a long time, and it may be intermittent. Frequent testing may lead to alternating positive and negative results. 51% of patients had a positive PCR after a Negative! It's the natural process and reflects the flaws in testing asymptomatic patients

Criminalizing of public health issues such as #HIV exposure and substance use is a form of state-sanctioned stigma. This #WorldHealthDay, we remind policymakers of their duty to defend the human rights of all people, including the right to health. #RightToHealth
