This is again from my last year tweets on income and wealth. Don't expect accurate data in India. We can only have an approximate idea. Contains AI content as well. How many demat accounts in India? How many are likely to be unique demat account holders? How many unique demat account holders, what percentage would have more than Rs.10 lakh (one million rupees) as value of holdings? 175 million demat account as of September 2024. There are investors who have multiple demat account too. Around 90 million to 100 million, say 10 crore unique investors. Roughly 15-20 million unique holders might have over Rs.10 lakh. This is about 15-20% of the 90-100 million unique holders. Just 20 million or 2 crore investors are worth more than Rs.10 lakhs, Rs.1 million. How many unique mutual fund investors in India? How many of them would have holdings worth Rs.10 lakhs or above? Around 45 million or 4.5 crores unique investors. Estimated 7 million investors, around 15% have holdings worth more than Rs.10 lakhs. If you combine both stocks and mutual funds, after elimination of overlapping, only around 20 million, 2 crore investors have holdings worth more than Rs.10 lakhs. So only 1.5% of country's population has any meaningful investments.

So much against SIPs. I know one client , who has done 12000-15000 SIP each in 2 a/c for the last 14-15 yrs (husband & wife) and has created around 1.5 crs, approx XIRR - 14-15%, with the help of MF Distributer Best part - They have no knowledge / little knowledge of Markets

@MarketMarvels Absolutely wrong. Without hand holding, he might not have reached so far.

@BullMarkets1 If he has done on his own without the distributor, he would have made 2% CAGR more. Distributors take away wealth.

Investment Pattern - Increased MF SIP amount from next month in all funds. For eg - If I have to invest 30,000 pm, then 10,000 used to get invested through MF and remaining 20,000 through Direct Stocks. Here onwards, 20,000 will get invested through MF and balance in stocks.

Mediclaim 🏥 2 days back, one of my relatives unfortunately got hit by a lorry and sustained brain injuries. Almost around 10 lacs will be spent on treatment, as he didn't have health insurance. Age - 70+ yrs. Lesson - Pl take health insurance of every member in ur family.
