Between packing for our move, I've been working through all of the feedback on the SURANGAMA demo. I plan to push an update in the near future that addresses a ton of the issues, but one cool new thing is that the enemies can now spawn different AoEs from their attacks like "poison puddles" and time bombs. They need a little more tweaking but it's coming along!

Over the past year, we've put everything we have into this game, and in one week the kickstarter goes live along with the Combat Test Demo, a roughly 30 minute demo full of enemy encounters to make sure that our first crack at a combat system is on track. We have reached as far as we currently can without any funding, and will be polishing and crunching right up until the Kickstarter is live next Monday. It's all led to this! You may have noticed a change to the logo for SURANGAMA! After nearly a full year of dev, writing, and planning I settled on a Traditional Chinese name that better fits with the themes and tone of the game as a whole! 破地​獄 , which means "Shattering Hell". This comes from a traditional Cantonese funerary ritual, in which a Taoist priest uses a ceremonial sword to break the gates of Hell, free a soul from it's suffering and guide them towards reincarnation ☸️. I hope that change gives a strong idea of what Surangama is about, this is a very meaningful title for the game, and a very meaningful game for our studio.
