The end of a beautiful day and another season…. As we walked the patch this morning, Beth and I decided to close for the season. Thank you for a great summer of blueberry picking. We are so grateful for your support of the farm, local seasonal food and flowers.

Day is done and so is our season...at least temporarily. We will update you on the possibility of a second picking of our late season variety on Thursday evening, August 26th.

We’re open and continuing with the first picking of late season blueberry varieties. What a beautiful, bountiful season! I loved running into this impressive 89 year-old berry picker in the Patch on a very warm afternoon. She came w/her daughters to pick and have a picnic.

We’re usually closed Mondays and Tuesdays but the picking has been so good that we’ve decided to stay open this Monday and Tuesday from 8-8. Blueberries are $3.10 a pound. The PYO flower garden is open and bakery items restocked.

ALL DONE!!! Each year, November-April, I prune almost 40 acres of blueberry bushes with two dedicated part-time workers. Yearly, we prune out 15-20% of the bush to keep it healthy and productive —which means a lot of canes to pick up. Yep, that’s what we’ll be finishing up next.
