During the programme, interactions were held with local residents, and awareness messages were shared to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections. Review of Poll Preparedness – Katwa Assembly Constituency, West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 Police Observers Dr. Satyajit Naik,and Chethan visited Katwa Assembly Constituency to review poll preparedness. During the visit, all officers were briefed on the Election Commission of India’s core objectives: ensuring violence-free, intimidation-free, and inducement-free elections, along with zero tolerance for booth capturing, booth jamming, and source jamming. Directions were issued for strict compliance with ECI guidelines to ensure free and fair elections. Key measures directed include: Preparation of updated lists of history-sheeters and troublemakers on priority. Daily monitoring and execution of pending Non-Bailable Warrants. joint visits to all polling stations by Police and CAPF. Intensive coverage of vulnerable polling stations and hamlets through Confidence Building Measures. Extensive area domination and CBMs are being undertaken in vulnerable pockets to build public confidence. Coordination between local police and CAPF was reviewed and found to be effective. All police personnel have been instructed to strictly adhere to ECI guidelines. Any violations will invite stringent legal action. নির্বাচন বিধি চলাকালীন কালনায় নাকা চেকিংয়ে বিপুল পরিমাণ নগদ টাকা উদ্ধার। আজ ২৭শে এপ্রিল, ২০২৬, নির্বাচন কমিশনের আদর্শ আচরণবিধি (Model Code of Conduct) যথাযথভাবে কার্যকর করতে কালনা থানার অন্তর্গত বৈদ্যপুর পুলিশ আউটপোস্টের পুলিশ কর্মীরা ‘কুলটি হাড়িতলা’এলাকায় বিশেষ নাকা চেকিং অভিযান চালান। বৈদ্যপুর আউটপোস্টের এস.আই (SI) ব্রজগোপাল হালদারের নেতৃত্বে এ.এস.আই (ASI) চন্দ্রব্রত রায়চৌধুরী, এ.এস.আই (ASI) অনুপ কুমার ধারা, কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনী (CAPF) এবং ফ্লাইং স্কোয়াড (FST) ম্যাজিস্ট্রেটের উপস্থিতিতে এই তল্লাশি চালানো হয়। অভিযানে সন্দেহভাজন দুই ব্যক্তিকে আটক করা হয় এবং তাদের কাছ থেকে মোট ১০,৭৭,৯০০/- (দশ লক্ষ সাতাত্তর হাজার নয়শ) টাকা উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। অভিযানের বিবরণ: ১. হুগলি জেলার পান্ডুয়া থানার তিন্না নিবাসী সুরেন্দর সাউ (পিতা- দণ্ডপাণি সাউ) এর কাছ থেকে নগদ ৮,০০,০০০/- (আট লক্ষ) টাকা উদ্ধার করা হয়। যার মধ্যে ৫০০ টাকার ১৫৪১টি নোট, ২০০ টাকার ৮টি নোট এবং ১০০ টাকার ২৭৯টি নোট ছিল। ২. পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলার কালনা থানার বাঘনাপাড়া (কৈখালি) নিবাসী নূর আলম শেখ (পিতা- নুরুলহুদা শেখ) এর কাছ থেকে নগদ ২,৭৭,৯০০/- (দুই লক্ষ সাতাত্তর হাজার নয়শ) টাকা উদ্ধার করা হয়। এর মধ্যে ৫০০ টাকার ৫০০টি নোট, ২০০ টাকার ৪০টি নোট এবং ১০০ টাকার ১৯৯টি নোট ছিল। যেহেতু আটককৃত ব্যক্তিরা তাদের কাছে থাকা বিপুল পরিমাণ এই নগদ অর্থের সপক্ষে কোনো বৈধ নথিপত্র বা সন্তোষজনক ব্যাখ্যা দিতে ব্যর্থ হন এবং বর্তমান নির্বাচন চলাকালীন নির্দিষ্ট সীমার অতিরিক্ত নথিহীন অর্থ বহন করা নির্বাচন কমিশনের বিধিলঙ্ঘন, তাই এফ.এস.টি (FST) ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট মানস কুমার ঘোষ এবং এক্সপেন্ডিচার অবজার্ভার (Expenditure Observer) ডক্টর ভি. বালাসুব্রমনিয়াম-এর উপস্থিতিতে সমস্ত অর্থ বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে। পুলিশ ঘটনার পরবর্তী তদন্ত প্রক্রিয়া শুরু করেছে। পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলা পুলিশ আসন্ন নির্বাচনে ঘিরে সদা তৎপর এবং অবাধ, সুষ্ঠ নির্বাচন নিশ্চিত করতে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ। @WBPolice

আসন্ন বিধানসভা নির্বাচন ২০২৬ উপলক্ষে অবাধ, শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচন নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যে পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলা পুলিশের মেমারি থানার পুলিশ ও আবগারি দপ্তর এবং সেন্ট্রাল পুলিশের সদস্যবৃন্দ সম্মিলিতভাবে এক বিশেষ অভিযান পরিচালিত হয়। গত ২২.০৪.২০২৬ তারিখে মণ্ডলগ্রামের বারোদাসপাড়া, হাজরাপাড়া এবং পাওয়ার স্টেশন পাড়া এলাকায় অবৈধ দেশীয় চোলাই মদ প্রস্তুত ও মজুতের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযানের মাধ্যমে প্রায় ৩৭ লিটার অবৈধ দেশীয় মদ (ID Liquor) এবং প্রায় ৫৮০ লিটার ফারমেন্টেড ওয়াশ উদ্ধার করে আইনানুগ প্রক্রিয়ায় নষ্ট করা হয়। জেলা পুলিশের পক্ষ থেকে আসন্ন নির্বাচনকে সামনে রেখে অবৈধ কার্যকলাপের বিরুদ্ধে এই ধরনের অভিযান ধারাবাহিকভাবে চালানো হবে, যাতে সাধারণ মানুষের নিরাপত্তা বজায় থাকে এবং একটি স্বচ্ছ ও শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচনী পরিবেশ গড়ে তোলা যায়। @WBPolice

আসন্ন বিধানসভা নির্বাচন-২০২৬ উপলক্ষে আইন-শৃঙ্খলা রক্ষার্থে জেলা জুড়ে নাকা চেকিং ও তল্লাশি অভিযান জোরদার করা হয়েছে। এই প্রেক্ষিতে গতকাল কালনা থানায় প্রাপ্ত একটি তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে কালনা থানার পুলিশ ও FST ম্যাজিস্ট্রেটের উপস্থিতিতে একটি টোটো গাড়িটিতে তল্লাশি চালিয়ে আনুমানিক ₹৩.৫ লক্ষ নগদ অর্থ উদ্ধার করা হয়। উক্ত অর্থের বিষয়ে কোনো বৈধ নথিপত্র প্রদান করতে না পারায় FST ম্যাজিস্ট্রেটের উপস্থিতিতে ভিডিওগ্রাফির মাধ্যমে উক্ত অর্থ আইনানুগভাবে বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট ব্যক্তির বিরুদ্ধে প্রয়োজনীয় আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হচ্ছে। সুষ্ঠু, অবাধ ও শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচন নিশ্চিত করতে পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলা পুলিশ বদ্ধপরিকর। @WBPolice

SP, Purba Bardhaman accompanied by CAPF personnel, conducted intensive confidence-building measures in sensitive areas under Mongolkote PS, Ketugram PS, Katwa PS under Katwa Sub-Division on 17/04/2026. Coordinated route marches and area domination exercises were carried out in identified vulnerable pockets. Visit of Police Observer to Naka Checkpoints,under Ketugram PS(AC no.271), Purba Bardhaman on 16/04/2026: Dr. Satyajit Naik, IPS, Police Observer for the ongoing General Elections to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly 2026, conducted an inspection visit to Futisanko and Moregram inter district Naka check posts under Ketugram AC no 271. Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal. During the visit, the Police Observer reviewed the functioning and operational preparedness of personnel deployed at the naka checking points. He examined the arrangements for vehicle checking, verification procedures, and enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Emphasis was laid on maintaining strict vigilance to prevent movement of unaccounted cash, liquor, or any other inducements that could influence the electoral process. Dr. Naik interacted with the deployed personnel and instructed them to ensure: • Strict adherence to Election Commission of India guidelines • Professional and courteous conduct during checking • Proper documentation and real-time reporting of seizures • Effective coordination with Flying Squads and other enforcement teams The Observer also inspected the infrastructure at the naka point, including surveillance equipment, lighting arrangements, and deployment pattern, and directed that all logistical requirements be adequately met to ensure uninterrupted operations.
