Would We Sell Raya?
- Yes, at 5.9m, Raya now feels too expensive for what he offers. While Arsenal lead the league for clean sheets, beyond that he provides very little upside. He ranks 20th for saves per 90 with only 32 saves all season, meaning he rarely adds save points to his CS returns.
- With Arsenal’s strength on set pieces, two of their full-backs ranking 1st and 13th for xGI among defenders, plus Defcon and clean-sheet potential, their defenders offer far more value. Doubling up at the back gives greater upside than investing heavily in a goalkeeper.
- This also opens the door to pick an attacker from Arsenal during favourable runs, rather than locking budget into a low-ceiling GK slot. Our approach would be to move to a cheaper GK, free up funds, and reinvest them where upside is higher. For us, Raya is a sell.
Gabriel + Timber ✅

Aston Villa vs Fulham
xG (1.11 vs 0.92)
Big Chances: 3 vs 1
- Villa came from behind to claim a 3‑1 win at home, getting their first PL victory of the season. Fulham looked sharp early and took the lead through Jiménez, but Villa struck back late in the first half via Watkins. The second half saw McGinn and Buendía add quickfire goals to settle matters. Fulham had good spells, especially early, but their defence and chance finishing cost them.
- Villa were under pressure very early, conceding in the 3rd minute through Jiménez’s header. Watkins ended his goal drought with a composed finish in the 37th minute, leveling just before half‑time. Right after the break, McGinn curled in a finish to put Villa ahead. Buendía made an impact after coming on, scoring to make it 3‑1 and sealing the win. Defensively, Villa had to ride out periods of Fulham pressure, especially early and just after going ahead. Some blocks and timely interventions kept them safe.
- Fulham had a strong start with the opening goal in 3rd minute via Jiménez header. They showed good movement and early threat. Fulham created chances and were pushing Villa back in early phases; felt like they might grab more. Frustration with refereeing decisions was also evident with two denied penalties via VAR took the edge off. As Villa grew in confidence after half‑time, Fulham faded a bit — lost control of midfield, gave too much space for Villa’s attacking transitions.
FPL POV:
Watkins: Ended his goal drought. Could be more confident now, so potential returns ahead.
Fulham defence: Conceded from set‑plays and transition. Weak spots exposed. Might be risky in FPL when up against teams good with crosses or high press.
Villa defence/Clean sheet potential: More solid after half‑time; given Fulham’s issues, Villa may snatch further clean sheets at home.

ARSENAL: (82%)
🆕 Timber, Madueke
⚠️ Nørgaard, Havertz, Jesus
White was absent from Wednesday’s training, making it more likely for Timber to start
Fans think this is a good opportunity to start Madueke, to give Martinelli the Liverpool game
The Eze transfer hasn’t been announced yet, so no way I can predict him to start

English

@thefplbois Won't Eze replace him? I only had martinelli wk1 because of leeds wk2. So start or bench this week
