The narrative purpose of scenes like this is to prime the audience to the character dynamics, not to be relevant to the plot or anything interesting. Sad I know.

This whole season was season 5 of GOT level of quality by the way. High quality production, with some pretty good standalone scenes that make no sense when you account for everything as a cohesive story. #HOTD

House of Dragons season two legitimately sucked. There was no advancement of any plot over 8 episodes. One dragon battle. It was just a bunch of mediocre dialog of people saying basically the same thing over and over. 👎👎

And obviously the book was written from secondary sources and unreliable narrators but that doesn't mean the show supersedes it

@loveigniting The original books came out long before fire and blood. It's clear he was lazy when writing the fire and blood. As mushroom appears in two places simultaneously while recounting important lore information. There is no way certain conversations are heard.

This narrative Ryan Condal has been pushing as if HOTD is the real story of F&B is a nonsensical assertion. While there are aspects of F&B that are debated rumors, GRRM is clear about what those are versus what are facts!!!

I absolutely loved this moment and it would've been so much more impactful had Daemon not seen the visions of the apocalypse which very well influenced him and you KNOW it influenced him because Helaena told him of his part in the "story" and he even says "until the end of our story" It's shit. The vision ruins the impact this scene needed to have and his character development all season. it's still beautiful but damn was his character done dirty. #HouseOfTheDragon

Daemon had to receive a magical prophetic vision to put his full support behind Rhaenyra. Too bad no one else gets those magical privileges. #HouseOfTheDragon

I guess the nice moment where Alicent was talking to her brother about her youngest son last episode meant nothing since she has basically condemned them both to die. #HouseOfTheDragon

I feel like Baela isn't even a character. Just a mouthpiece for Rhaenyra. All of her dialogue and interactions are for the benefit of other characters. And Rhaena has absorbed the storyline for an entirely different character and has seemed to make both hers and the other boring.

Can't wait for all these characters to die. 90% of them are worthless. #HouseOfTheDragon

@AngelaArts_ @Devoted2Mariah_ Keep in mind George is a lapse Catholic who has a pattern of criticizing religion and religious fervor in most of his other works. I doubt he is writing a series about a messiah figure with nukes (his words) where everything works out and nothing turns bad.
