3 life altering things happened to me in 2024.
1) I was run over by a truck walking across the street. I may never be the same. I am fighting for my medical bills to be covered, and workers comp/short term disability. It's a mess. But I shouldn't be here. 35 mph. I should be dead
2) Several weeks later I watched a former President get shot. Live. I, like so many others, were fearful of the outcome while we waited with our collective breaths held. I saw the culmination of 8 years of demonization of a man getting shot out of the barrel of a gun. I urge you to look at the PEOPLE around him. The fear, the horror, the sadness all wash away with a joy and Patriotic exuberation as President Trump stood up and raised his fist letting everyone know that we will fight fight fight on! In that moment I realized that God had not only spared me for a greater mission, he also spared a nation. The moment was so amazing that I stood up and pumped my fist and I couldn't even walk! This moment will live on as a tribute of American patriotism that will define a man's life who is running to make America great again, and another's mans life who sacrificed everything for his family. Corey Comperatore, a real hero!
3) Then again just a few weeks later, I watched RFK Jr shock the world and join forces with an opponent in a presidential race. I learned about his Uncle and Father growing up and his families history is one of the most well known in the last 100 years. I saw RFK Jr excoriate the Democrat Party that his family has life long ties to. When I think of the greatest Democrats in history, I think of JFK and RFK. Which were both taken from us by an assassins bullet. My body which still doesn't work properly was moved to stand up and shout in happiness. Thinking about the future of the country and being unified and bringing back American ingenuity and making our country safer and healthier for the next generation. I live with my sister and her children including an autistic nephew. I love them more than life itself and it's difficult. Autism is wild. If you met 1 person with autism you met 1 person with autism because they are so different. A future of ending health issues and working together and compromising with others to create the best for everyone sounds amazing!
Honestly It's only been about 3 months from one to the other. I can't pay my bills, I have no clue what else I can sell so I have food, my medical bills are stupid money, and I'm ok. I'm alive, I will get through this and I am hopeful for the future. I don't care what the media is saying. We're living this. Your step 1 may be different than mine but we all saw 2+3. We are winning!
