The truth doesn't always make the front page on its own. Sometimes it takes a journalist willing to keep telling it until the country finally listens.
Burn Pits 360 is proud to recognize Jake Tapper — @CNN's Chief Washington Correspondent and anchor of The Lead with Jake Tapper — as our PACT Act Trailblazer in Truth Journalism, to be honored at this year's Gala of Valor. Jake cannot attend in person but plans to send a video with remarks.
Tapper's career is a study in accountability: a Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Political Journalism, Variety and Rolling Stone's 2025 Truth Seekers Award, and reporting so consequential it helped free a wrongfully convicted teenager.
But it's his years standing with those who served that speak loudest to us. Through The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor, his work as an ambassador for Homes for Our Troops, and the annual auction he leads to build mortgage-free homes for severely wounded veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, Tapper has made sure our service members' sacrifices are never lost to the news cycle. For that commitment, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society awarded him its "Tex" McCrary Award for Excellence in Journalism.
Truth is how injustice gets exposed. It's how the PACT Act became law. And it's how the fight for veterans and families harmed by toxic exposure keeps moving forward.
Jake Tapper — thank you for telling the stories that matter.
Join us in congratulating him virtually at the Gala of Valor.
