GREAT NEWS FROM THE PLAINS OF TARABA!
Today, our law firm @BushraAttorneys has secured a public interest landmark judgment that is expected to significantly shape the political terrain of Taraba State in the year 2027.
This is the case of Incorporated Trustees of Taraba Progressives Front v. Rev. Jolly Nyame & INEC.
In this case, our clients had approached the Federal High Court, Jalingo seeking orders to disqualify former Governor of Taraba state, Rev. Jolly Nyame from participating in any of the stages of elections leading to the 2027 general elections. Our sole reason is because of Rev. Jolly Nyame’s conviction for fraud related offenses by the FCT High Court in 2018.
The Court overruled all the objections raised by Rev. Nyame’s lawyers against our case and found for our clients as sought in the summons.
This is another victory for public interest litigation as this case is clearly not a pre-election contrary to the objections raised by INEC at the hearing.
