@JENBROOK8 @jonnyf1970 @cutnoise Would totally agree with spacing- and by definition that limits numbers. Busking takes place in public spaces and therefore cannot be 'booked' any more than you can book a space to walk, eat a sandwich or any other incidental activity..

@JENBROOK8 Out of interest where do you live that buskers are playing 22 hours/day? Are you aware that existing legislation bans amplification after 9pm and would using that help to alleviate the problem?

@BuskUnregulated Where I live is now 22 hours a day racket for 1/2 the year. It was not like this even 5 years ago. It rotates between different types of annoying/ loud/ repetitive noise. We are getting a music school so there is potential for more + than - from buskers, if managed for numbers.

It is lawful to busk on any public highway. Who did you consult on this? These aren't 'new busking spots'. You are simply trying to control and limit lawful activity.

@SirKittHimself @what_if_cork Because I attended a ccc meeting where the director of services decided there was no need to legislate busking in #cork as has been done in #dublin and globally . Ccc laws unto themselves.

@what_if_cork Busking bye-laws are in the offing. A draft was presented by officials over Summer that will effectively eliminate this kind of "performance". Unfortunately, I felt it would have put too much of a burden on others — and I've been working with officials and artists to improve it.

No cash in birthday cards, no helping those you love with a little extra. No busking. No gold coin donations. It won't be convenient then.

@elisabetha678 @WeAreTheMU @LouBraithwaite Why did it stop during lockdown. Busking is work and going to work was perfectly legal during lockdown.

@WeAreTheMU @LouBraithwaite I did busking on my violin 🎻 quite a bit before the pandemic. But then with lockdown of course it all stopped. I really enjoy busking. Hope to do it again soon. Just need less rain and more dry weather for busking
