In an extraordinary demonstration of courage and unwavering commitment to brotherly relations, our leader, Prime Minister @AbiyAhmedAli, has once again surprised the world by making a state visit to the United Arab Emirates, even at a time when missiles and drones are falling from the sky in the country. This true son of Ethiopia has demonstrated the genuine heart, courage, and resilience of the Ethiopian people. Just as he once surprised the world by joining the front lines—wearing a military ranger uniform to stand with his country’s defense forces—he has once again demonstrated remarkable fearless leadership by traveling to a region facing security challenges to stand with our brothers and sisters in the United Arab Emirates. From the very day he assumed the responsibility of leading our country, we Ethiopians have watched with pride as he guided the nation with dignity and determination. His leadership has enabled us to hold our heads high with confidence and national pride. Your Excellency, Prime Minister, your courageous leadership inspires Ethiopians everywhere to live with pride and stand tall. Today’s visit to the United Arab Emirates, which has amazed the world, has further elevated the stature and respect of Ethiopia and its people. As true Ethiopians, we are proud and grateful to be led by such a heroic leader. At this time, many of us are observing fasting Orthodox Christians (ዐብይ ጾም)and Ramadan, we need to pray for the good health, strength and long life of our leader, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. 130th Commemoration of the Victory of Adwa Celebrated with Great Honor and Pride in Nairobi ==============//=========== We proudly commemorated the historic 130th Victory of Adwa under the motto, “Glorious Past, Radiant Future,” in a truly remarkable and dignified ceremony. The magnificent celebration was graced by the Guest of Honor, Hon. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, EGH, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, whose presence underscored the deep and enduring friendship between Ethiopia and Kenya. The commemoration was attended by a distinguished gathering of Ambassadors and High Commissioners accredited to Nairobi, senior Kenyan government officials, high-ranking military leaders, Defence Attachés, and members of the Ethiopian diplomatic community. We were also honored by the presence of senior United Nations leadership, including Ms. Zeinab Bangura, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi; Ms. Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat; and Ms. Inger Andersen, Executive Director of UNEP. The vibrant participation of the Ethiopian Diaspora added great pride and meaning to the occasion, reflecting their unwavering connection to Ethiopia’s glorious heritage. In my remarks, I reiterated that the history of the Victory of Adwa, which we celebrate today, did not begin on a battlefield; it began with the fire of patriotism ignited within the homes of Ethiopians. Furthermore, I stated that Ethiopia is a country kneaded with the blood of her children, not one drawn on a map with a colonial pencil. These reflections reaffirm the profound sacrifices, unity, and unwavering determination that have preserved Ethiopia’s sovereignty and dignity. On other hand, Hon. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, in his remarks, congratulated the people of Ethiopia on their historic victory in safeguarding their sovereignty and defeating colonial aggression. He emphasized that the Victory of Adwa remains a powerful symbol of freedom, dignity, and resilience, and continues to serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for African people and oppressed nations across the world. He also commended Ethiopia’s leadership role as a strong voice for Africa and its continued contribution as host to key continental and international institutions. Furthermore, he praised the all-weather strategic partnership between Ethiopia and Kenya. The Victory of Adwa stands forever as a testament to unity, courage, and the unbreakable spirit of Ethiopia.

His visionary engagement continues to strengthen partnerships, expand cooperation and elevate Ethiopia’s global standing. A proud moment for Ethiopian diplomacy and international friendship.

Today in the morning, I had the pleasure of meeting with Anacláudia Marinheiro Centeno Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) at the HQ of UN-HABITAT. We had productive discussion on possible areas of collaboration between UN-Habitat and Ethiopia to ensure the success of COP32. I highlighted Ethiopia’s national climate actions and its nexus with the rapid national urban development and the corridor development plan.

I was pleased to confer with H.E. Heiko Nitzschke, Germany’s Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, on key bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest in my office. Ethiopia and Germany enjoy longstanding and historic relations dating back to the early 20th century. Our partnership has continued to grow stronger over the years, anchored in mutual respect, development cooperation and a shared commitment to peace and stability. We reaffirmed our shared resolve to further deepen Ethiopia–Germany relations and enhance collaboration on regional priorities for the mutual benefit of our two peoples.

I was pleased to receive H.E. Mr. Hans Heneric Lundquist, Swedish Ambassador to Somalia at my office today. Our discussions focused on matters of common interest and on further strengthening the cordial and longstanding relations between Ethiopia and Sweden. We exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in key areas of mutual benefit and reaffirmed our shared commitment to deepening the partnership between our two nations. I look forward to continued collaboration in advancing Ethiopia–Sweden relations.

I have joined the delegation led by H.E. Ibrahim Farah, Vice President of the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia, in paying a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya, Rt. Hon. Dr. Moses Wetang’ula.   Our discussions centered on further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Kenya and exploring new avenues of cooperation for the mutual benefit of our two nations.   Following the meeting, we visited the National Assembly of Kenya, where our presence was formally recognized during the parliamentary session.   During the session, several Members of Parliament warmly commended Ethiopia’s remarkable transformation. The House Minority Leader, Hon. Junet Mohamed, praised the beauty and rapid development of Addis Ababa, describing it as “the New Dubai of Africa.”   Similarly, the Majority Leader, Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, applauded the impressive large-scale developments taking place across Ethiopia, particularly in Addis Ababa.

H.E. Prime Minister @AbiyAhmedAli met with H.E. President @WilliamsRuto of Kenya today to discuss shared priorities and continental cooperation. Their talks underscore the deep, longstanding, and multifaceted partnership between Ethiopia and Kenya. Together, they are shaping a stronger future for our nations and Africa.

The President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. William Samoei Ruto, has arrived in Addis Ababa to participate in the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union. Mashimiwa Kairub Addis! His presence underscores the strong and enduring ties between Kenya and Ethiopia, as well as our shared commitment to advancing continental unity, peace, and sustainable development. Addis Ababa — the diplomatic capital of Africa — warmly welcomes him and his distinguished delegation.

Pleasure to receive my colleague, H.E. Barlybay Sadykov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Kenya and Permanent Representative to @UNON, for a productive courtesy call today. We held a constructive exchange on strengthening our diplomatic collaboration in Nairobi and advancing mutual affairs between our two sisterly nations.

On the margins of the 48th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council, H.E. Dr. Gedion Timothewos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, held fruitful and forward-looking discussions with Hon. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya. The two leaders reaffirmed the longstanding, all-weather and cordial relations between Ethiopia and Kenya- sisterly nations bound by deep historical ties, mutual respect and a shared vision for regional peace and prosperity. Their deliberations focused on further strengthening bilateral cooperation in key priority sectors, enhancing economic and political collaboration, and deepening engagement within regional and continental frameworks to advance common interests and sustainable development.

Our beloved city stands beautifully adorned, reflecting the spirit of unity, resilience, and shared progress that defines our great continent.
