After some dismal numbers at the end of last week, we're trying again to get some rainfall. Moisture chances exist tonight through Weds morning (best probabilities Tues night). If rain clouds appear tonight, though, they could bring strong-to-severe storms.

We're searching for a forecast that brings us nice, soaking rains, but with none of the storm nonsense. Tonight and Fri probably won't do it. We are (so far) storm-free, and we do have moisture chances, but they aren't dazzling. Next wk may be wet, but could bring more storms...

We didn't really need this, but Mother Nature is giving it to us... an overnight Tornado Watch (ugh!) that runs until 4am. Large hail, dmg winds, and a few twisters could accompany any storms that visit southern KS yet tonight.

The NWS has decided to tag BU CO on to an existing Severe Thunderstorm Watch area, primarily due to the storms traveling north of us... those could sag down far enough to impact the northern parts of our county. (Thanks for sharing, guys.)

Two rounds of storms possible for KS today - the later one is the one to watch in our area. If the conditions manage to align, they could produce substantial severe storms here after dark. (So we don't want the conditions to align!) But be alert and ready to act if they do.

They couldn't just leave us out of it... the first Watch missed us, but the latest Svr T-Storm Watch does include BU CO (darn). Large hail is still the primary threat, with some dmg winds possible, too (and that typical non-zero KS risk for twisty-wind).

Still storm potential for later today/this evening, but mostly looking out for hail-producing dark clouds (Oklahoma is taking the big target). Tomorrow is still very up-in-the-air. If it pops here, it'll do all the stuff... but our atmosphere may struggle to charge up.

After last night's multiple-landspout-tornadoes adventure, we were ready to be done. But Mother Nature is already brewing up the next couple of stormy days. The primary bullseye shifted south on Sat, and Sun's forecast is very conditional. But be sure to watch the sky this wkd!

Kansas Weather: the gift that keeps giving. And now it's giving us a Tornado Watch (in effect until 9pm), as well as leveled-up wind and hail potential. Forecasters now saying we could have softball sized hail and 80 mph winds, along with twisters. Yay.

Our storm threat for later today got an upgrade. And especially in our area, the evening tornado risk got leveled up. Storms should mostly bring large hail and dmg winds, but be prepared to take shelter if twisty-winds do occur.

Mother Nature has lined up multiple severe days for us. Thursday could start with supercells forming in Central or Eastern KS, capable of all the hazards (aft/eve). Could even see a threat upgrade from SPC. Sat = possible nighttime storm threat. Sun = afternoon/evening potential.

Mother Nature is still working on a severe weather threat for Thursday afternoon/evening. Early on, storms could be capable of all hazards, but they are expected to switch over to primarily wind-and-hail producers after a while (some uncertainty on how long "a while" will take).

Several days of nice, balmy weather ahead... and then Mother Nature tries that storm thing again? Thursday could be a severe day, but also a wet day. So far not a significant severe potential, but soaking rainfall could fall Thurs afternoon and night (we'll take that part).

And the SPC went with a Tornado Watch... Ridiculously-large hail and fierce winds are our most significant hazards, but based on their watch choice, we're definitely not out of the tornado woods, either.

You can't accuse Mother Nature of being boring... that's for sure. Our severe threat for today has been upgraded to a Moderate (or 4/5). SPC forecasters are especially focused on the risk of giant hail and severe damaging winds (tornado threat is there, but not as elevated).

BU CO is still in the target zone for severe weather today. Initial firing line is expected just west of us, with storms arriving here between mid-afternoon and early evening. Very large hail is a concern earlier on, along with damaging winds, and possibly a random twister.

Negotiations with Mother Nature have failed, and we're still in tomorrow's threat area. Storms could fire just NW of us during the afternoon. All hazards possible with earlier storms, but should transition to more of a wind/hail threat by evening.

Trying again today? Wednesday's storm threat is primarily in SE KS, but we're still watching the sky. Afternoon severe wind/hail possible (and maybe rain?). Friday is looking much more ominous, so keep a close eye on this one.

And there it is… A Tornado Watch was issued for an area that stretches from northern TX into southern KS (incl us). Could start with stupidly large hail, but watching for the tornado threat to increase into the evening. Dmg wind may also show up, too. Watch is through 11pm.

We dodged Mother Nature last night, but she's trying again today. Severe storms could develop later in the afternoon, and the tornado threat may level-up by evening. Could see more activity Weds, but still some uncertainty. And Fri is really trying to get our attention...
