AI: the poor man’s personal trainer. Legit: I’m working with Grok, in fact, to help me manage my weight and get to a healthier lifestyle. It’s helped me understand a lot more about my diet and exercise - things that I’ve been doing wrong. What do you use AI for?

I used my iPhone in these shots. The Olympus takes shots that are just as good, but I want to upgrade to the OM5. What are your thoughts? My iPhone already takes fantastic shots, is it worth getting a dedicated camera? If so, which one/style is best?

Doing a Couch Potato to 5k program last week. They made it nice and easy to get started… and I hate running, so that’s saying something. I’m on Week 2, Day 3; wish me luck!

It’s slow going -at this rate, this is a 2-year journey or longer- but as long as I continue to make progress on my routine, I’ll keep chugging along.

And I found something that’s working. 15lb in 2 months so far, another 85 to go. Biggest difference this time is that this keeps me steady at my current weight even if I’m traveling and my routine is disrupted. So I don’t lose progress, even if I don’t gain, and that’s big.

For all of my adult life, I’ve been overweight. The scale kept ticking up, and I only made sporadic attempts to lose weight. I kept hitting weights I thought would be my “That’s it, I’m serious.” But I couldn’t find anything that worked. Well, I hit 245lb, and I’m serious.

Planning ahead is tough to get right. As the saying goes, no plan survives contact with the enemy. But having a plan, at least a general idea of a plan, is better than being completely directionless.

My method of avoiding phone use in front of my kids: get the physical versions of what you do on your phone where you can. That visual cue can let them know what you’re doing, and usually lets them join in (pen & paper journals, physical cameras, whiteboard calendars, etc.)
