Recognitions and proclamations were presented this month to D. Wayne Smith, retiring after serving for many years as our contracted County Engineer and to Lisa Weaver Durden, retiring as Executive Director of the Butts County Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations to you both!

Great time this evening as we honored Lisa Durden for her service as Executive Director of the @ButtsCoChamber and this time, she got to cut the ribbon as she enters this next chapter of her life. Enjoy your well deserved retirement and thanks to all who helped with this event!

The Chamber has selected a new President/CEO, Mrs. Jacqueline Byrd McKoon! She has extensive experience in governmental affairs, fundraising, sales, presentation management, and event planning. She will begin full-time on June 1, 2024. Please join us in welcoming her!

Congressman Mike Collins stopped by the Chamber Office on Tuesday to talk about his new role before he went to speak at Jackson-Butts County Rotary Club meeting.

Yesterday, UGA Griffin Campus welcomed Dr. Jeffrey F.D. Dean, Ph.D. as their new Asst. Provost and Campus Director. Lisa Durden, Chamber Executive Director, and Kristie Stodghill-Head, Chamber Board Member, were in attendance.

We have established a hotline for citizens to call for: -Reporting trees in roadways -Requesting Tarps -Shelter Information -Other Storm Related Information This will be staffed during business hours-a message can be left after hours. 911 should only be called for EMERGENCIES.
