@coachprburkhead I tore mine in low A ball on a bad surface in 2006. At shortstop the infield dirt was lower than the outfield grass and I planted for a popup on the ridge. The left fielder said he heard it "POP" as soon as I planted to catch the ball.

Need some input from other coaches out there. I honestly don’t recall anyone ever tearing an ACL when I was in HS (mid-2000s). Why are they so prevalent now? My two theories: No one rides bikes No one jumps on trampolines. Or could it be the playing surfaces?

THIS !!! It is destroying kids ability to see progress at a young age. Parents wanting and trying to help don't score the game correctly and kids get on the next day and rib players for going 0-2 when they really went 2-4 or pitched great and show 7era when there were 9 errors not scored

GameChanger stats… Pitch counts, strike outs, walks and runs scored are the only basic stats that can’t be manipulated. Unless of course the person running GC forgets to change pitchers or has the lineup wrong. If the person running it struggles to differentiate between hits and errors, passed balls and wild pitches, stolen bases and indifference, almost everything you see will be inaccurate. Batting average, ERA, hits, hits allowed, earned runs, RBI’s, they will all be skewed and sometimes in a big way. GC has become a source of tension in our youth game. If this is happening on your team, the easiest solution is to stop using it. If parents and coaches want stats, let them keep their own book.

@mamedina8 I will admit I dont know much on BBCOR yet but I have my 14yr old son using my own wood @SabreCatBats I used when I played in all practice and cold games. He LOVES them and prefers using them in sub 60 degree weather. 33" Pro Maple sounds like heaven!

31 inch -3 BBCOR bats???? When did these come available? BBCORs are BBCORs….some are balanced, others are a little “top heavy” All these companies do is change the colorway and font …… straight up poking your eyes out! 🤣 By the time your son is in 7th grade he needs to be swinging a BBCOR. If not , once he gets to HS …. You and him are going to be in for a rude awakening. And for the record all the “hottest” BBCORs came out between 2012 - 2017ish. Go look for those models …ebay , etc . Feel free to drop your favorite BBCOR model from those years
