The 19 board members present at Monday’s special meeting voted 18-1 to name King as the new full-time CEO. Elected board member Jennifer Custer offered the lone no vote.

Michael Madigan’s pension has been suspended following his conviction on federal corruption charges.
The suspension comes days after Madigan, 82, was convicted on 10 felony counts of bribery, conspiracy and wire fraud in his landmark corruption trial.

“This is a historic conviction which ranks high in the annals of criminal cases tried in this court,” acting U.S. Attorney Morris Pasqual said of the Madigan conviction.
