@Jim_Holder Anything other than a car on the cover of a car mag is to be avoided. Preferably front three quarters which is why the replacement cover also bombed. I used to hate that rule when editor, and deviated a few times, but Mel was always right. The management (at the time)

December 2, 2003, and the Autocar cover that never got printed, after (I believe) upstairs management said it wouldn’t sell. Think the melting logo image is still on file. But hopefully not needed...
