If you were starting a Philly publication and could only make one hire, he was the guy we would have all called first. A legend from a better time. defector.com/dan-mcquade-19…

Congrats to commercial distribution leader Joe Hand Promotions on extending its partnership with AEW. Joe Hand and the JHP team are the No. 1-ranked partner for all combat sports PPV providers including UFC and PBC. businesswire.com/news/home/2025…

@NickJCarroll @MarkMacyk @Tyler_Harper13 @jackgoodwillie All I ever wanted was a high school soccer goal that dribbled into the net or a field hockey goal tipped in
English

@ByTimMcManus @MarkMacyk @Tyler_Harper13 @jackgoodwillie It's X straight points/runs, not unanswered unless they were the final scores of the game
English

Runs are scored, not plated
It was never a tale of two halves
Every goal was not blasted into back of the net
If you're going to say a homer went over the fence, be sure the field actually has a fence
What am I missing @MarkMacyk, @Tyler_Harper13, @NickJCarroll, @jackgoodwillie?

A team losing a game is not a "disaster." Home runs are homers, not "dingers," "jacks" or "bombs." A player scored 10 straight points, not 10 "unanswered" points. If a football team scores two touchdowns and the opponent doesn't come back, say it "never trailed" rather than "never looked back." In short, avoid hackneyed words and phrases, redundancies and exaggerations.

Remembering the late great Joe Hand, Sr., with a 10-bell count in the ring at his gym this morning in Feasterville, PA. His impact on boxing and combat sports is immeasurable. He will be remembered. Thinking of his family and staff at @JoeHandPromo and @JoeHandJr

So sorry to hear of the passing of the great Joe Hand Sr., Dad to my longtime friend and teammate. @matt_breen wonderfully tells the story of a true Philly neighborhood success story and a huge part of the city’s sports fabric. God bless Mr. Hand. inquirer.com/sports/joe-han…

Sad news out of our company today as we've lost our founder and namesake. Appreciate @matt_breen for being such a pro with the story, as always. inquirer.com/sports/joe-han…

Hanging around the city this weekend? Me too. Here are a few cool things to do while no one is around timeout.com/philadelphia/t…

@RobTornoe Technically, I was let go right before the transition, but was told at the time it was related. Personal experience aside, there have certainly been layoffs at the Inquirer since. Not sure there are any heroes in this biz
English

@RobTornoe I like your work and I'm happy you have a solid home for it. I'm even happier my local paper isn't run by Alden or something. But if the correlation here is that nonprofit = security from layoffs, some of us have painful evidence to the contrary
