Hey y'all just want to send a huge hug and thanks to everyone that participated in yesterday's release of /// and I cannot wait to see everyone wearing these caps IRL when they're complete! I'm incredibly fascinated by the interplay between our physical and digital lives and am grateful to have had the opportunity to explore this through various collaborations over the years including Friendship Bracelets (with @MacTuitui), Iteration-2 (with @9dccxyz), ODDS (with @tribute_brand), Heart+Craft (with @JordanLyall and @ProhibitionArt), and now ///. I remain committed to demonstrating the power of the generative medium and blockchain technology as well as the value of the generative artist and will continue to push the boundaries via @artblocks_io and @artblocksengine touching everything from fine art to craft to apparel and everything in between. At the root of it, we are participating as individuals within a larger family in the creation and celebration of an artistic idea. Like the Chromie Squiggle, these projects often start as a proof of concept, a way to hopefully inspire others into exploring the beautiful opportunities afforded by this medium and technology. Sometimes I think that these "proof of concepts" are just straight up my artistic medium. It's not just the generative medium itself, or the code, or the blockchain substrate, or the visual or the physical but the intersection of ALL of these that allow me to share my creative vision with so many humans across the world in a permissionless, instant, and accessible way. I'm poking at the interconnected nature of our community, of society, and the opportunity to bring people together around a common positive theme. I look back at what I've released and what's next and realize this is where my brain thrives, and I can't wait to share more of these concepts with you but also hopefully with your friends and neighbors and family members and colleagues in a way that makes blockchain technology interesting and compelling to new audiences. Thank you @ArtOnInternet, @redbullracing, and @Bybit_Official for the opportunity to put a little more of my soul out into the world. If you're tinkering with the algorithm I recommend you explore the live view (link below), as this is the way it is meant to be explored. Remember that Art Blocks renders static images basically to be backwards compatible with overall ecosystem infrastructure but the true way to view any Art Blocks artwork is live running in your browser. The larger centered output you see right now is there for thumbnail and indexing purposes but the real intended way to experience it on a screen is in lonely mode (press the letter "l"). This mode will adapt to your screen whether it's landscape or portrait and place the slashes surrounded by a bunch of empty white or black space (press space bar to toggle background color). There's meaning behind that but will save that for another day. Then of course the animation settings are based on your mood. Sometimes party mode is the right vibe but lately the world has been a bit weird and outline mode feels more appropriate. If you plan on printing this (which I very much would love to see these printed) please press "p" which turns the canvas into a square and places the slashes bottom justified. You can print in any mode (finish line, party, outline, noise, or clean lines) in either background color too. My preference would be for them to be printed in this format if you're going through the trouble of bringing them into your home. There is some trickery you can do in the developer console on chrome to force higher resolution renders, but pressing "s" saves a png of the canvas regardless. Here is a link to the live view of token #0. You can replace the last four numbers with your tokenID. For example if you have token 1234 you would replace the last four zeros with 1234. This pulls up a full screen and animated live view of the work. generator.artblocks.io/0x8cdbd7010bd1… And finally a quick reminder of controls for live view below: Press the space bar to invert background Press the enter key to toggle party mode Press “n” to toggle noise Press “f” to cross the finish line Press “o” to enter outline mode Press “l” to activate lonely mode Press “p” to activate print view (preferred printing format is square in lonely mode) Press “s” to save canvas in PNG format Press “e” to save embroidery file in SVG format Thanks again y'all. Really enjoying folks exploring the algorithm so far and especially loving the juxtaposition of these outputs with both Squiggles and works of other creators in our ecosystem! Cheers.
