@dustfrmer @steigertractor @danlakey21 @lstruckm We’ve only be able to do 10in, same row, this year will be alternate row.

@steigertractor @danlakey21 @ByeFarms @lstruckm So what row spacing and staggering have you found to be ideal with flax and chickpeas?
English

@steigertractor @dustfrmer @danlakey21 @lstruckm 100% agree with Brett on this, chickpeas definitely help thresh the flax on our 8240s, we threw small wires in front and large in the 2nd and that seemed to work really well, we’ve also only used desi chickpeas in the intercrop.

@dustfrmer @danlakey21 @ByeFarms @lstruckm It’s easier than you would think Cory. Just set your combine up to to cut chickpeas and maybe turn your window down just a little bit and the extra volume of the chickpeas will help thrash the flax bulbs. It’s not perfect but it works pretty good!!
English

@dustfrmer @lstruckm Flax was all really clean with the exception of some chaff, no flax really in with the garbs except for the few unthrashed flax balls that rolled off with garbs

@bigbushelsag Nope, unloaded. Definitely going to be going through it throughly!

@thompson_marni For sure! I don’t see us raising chickpeas without flax again. Will definitely be doing more acres and trying a couple others hopefully. Definitely tougher to incorporate them without being able to insure it.

@bradywilliamj Absolutely, unfortunately we are without hopper bottoms and a small conveyor, we rent one from a neighbor and just try to make sure the chickpeas we do separate see an auger as little as possible

New to us this year... First time bale grazing and also hoping to get some life back into a pretty worn out pasture. A little more waste than feeders but hope there’s more return in covering the ground and #SoilHealth

@RoncerayDan 38 years of rust I think, also was patched around there before we bought it an auction 16 years ago, just made a corner on county road when it happened
