Big story: No person who professes a religion other than Hinduism, Sikhism or Buddhism shall be a member of Scheduled caste. Conversion to any other religion results in loss of Scheduled caste status : Supreme Court. Basically, Dalit Christians can’t take advantage of SC protection. Qs is: does religion change end caste discrimination? Courts may need a reality check!

Don't understand the fuss around this SC judgement.
Multiple HC and SC judgements have earlier said the same thing.
Also the ambiguity is being created by courts only, Bombay HC ruled just because someone has Cristiano images, artifacts in there homes doesn't mean they are practising Christianity.
I think this will only open the flood gate of people converting in secret.

Okay 3509 properties rejected, but what was the total number of properties. Was to 35000, was it 3.5 Lacs. What is the scale of rejection, is it 5%, 50% or 90%.
Need more information before we can form an opinion.

Out of the total Waqf properties uploaded for verification, 3,509 properties have been REJECTED during verification as of 17th March 2026.
This raises serious and troubling questions:
How did such a massive number of properties fail verification?
Were these entries inaccurate, manipulated, or lacking proper documentation?
Who is accountable for this glaring administrative failure?
Even more alarming is the broader context, earlier, only a fraction of total Waqf properties in the state had been uploaded within the mandated timeline. Now, among those processed, thousands are being rejected.
