@NarwhalChannel @Why485 @Nothke 1.because gdscript is simpler and better integrated because it's a custom language made for godot + people ended up liking it a lot (even ex unity users) 2.because godot aims to be both a 2d and 3d game engine and the 3d side lacks features while the 2d side is already very good

@Why485 @Nothke I'm glad they added C#, don't get me wrong, but then why spend so much time developing your own scripting language? Why spend so much on making a great 2D engine, only to completely pivot to 3D? I think a lot of my gripes boil down to "i dont trust the project manager".

@MV_Raffa Plus, even badly optimized gdscript code is very unlikely to be the bottleneck in a 3D game. CPU times have always stayed way below GPU times for me.
