Baking Gingerbread men in nursery this week has enabled us to explore mathematical concepts through weighing, follow instructions, talk about the changes we observe and practice our mixing skills.

So many opportunities to explore our curiosity and ask questions as part of #britishscienceweek in nursery this week!

5W enjoyed exploring and discussing new books and authors during #WorldBookDay2026

In 2T we looked at the book The Grotlyn by Benji Davies and we created our own Grotlyns in Forest School. We then labelled them before going back into class and finding out who The Grotlyn really was! #ByronWorldBookDay #BenjiDavies

In Science today 2T investigated the question “Do woodlice prefer dry or damp places?” We decided that they prefer damp , dark places after observing them for five minutes. #ByronScience

2T went to look at micro habitats today to hunt for mini beasts. We found worms, snails, woodlouse and beetles. #ByronScience

2T has made some fantastic chalk boards in DT. They were very happy with their results. #ByronDT

2T today build a wormery with sand, soil, dead leaves and 3 worms! We will observe them over time to see what happens. #ByronScience

Our EYFS children have had a fabulous animal encounter experience from ‘Walk On The Wild Side’. We had the opportunity to stroke and handle a snake, a bearded dragon, a guinea pig, an owl, some stick insects and a tarantula! It was the perfect opportunity to ignite their interest

2T produced a food chain web today showing how the Producer, Predator and Prey all rely on each other. #ByronScience

Great to have @BradfordBullsRL mascot into school today to celebrate our schools success in our Rugby 🏉 lessons. The children have really enjoyed it and we now have 33 children attending an after school club!

Last week we read Goldilocks and made porridge in nursery. The perfect winter breakfast for us all! Yum, yum! 😋

2T were looking at different settings from their story and thinking about what they might see, hear, touch, smell and taste. They came up with great ideas to put into their writing. #ByronEnglish #ReadySteadyWrite

Byron had a fabulous time with Rock steady music today. #rocksteadymusic

Nursery had lots of fun learning and performing nursery rhymes for #worldnurseryrhymeweek last week. Actors and singers in the making we think!

2T went outside in Science to look at characteristics of living things. We were extremely lucky to see a brave squirrel running past us into the bushes too.

We enjoyed making our own wooden peg dolls and as you can see the results are fantastic. Well done Year 2. #ByronHistory
