They do have a different view of women - one that I personally do not agree with - but it is part of their culture and belief system.
At the same time, we often expect the rest of the world to respect our culture, values, and way of life as if they are the only acceptable way to live. We become offended when other cultures reject our beliefs, while frequently dismissing or criticizing theirs.
Perhaps we need to stop assuming that our way is the only way.
That does not mean we must agree with every cultural practice or abandon our own values. But understanding that different societies have developed different beliefs, traditions, and priorities may be a better starting point than assuming everyone should think exactly as we do.
