@SDuct The bulk of the reverse thrust and down force is from the bypassed cold air, but the blocker doors you refer to deflect the hot compressed air forwards and up too, generating even more (up to 15,000lbs per engine) down force. Like an advanced version of the Fokker 70.

@C17UK @RAFBrizeNorton just seeing the blocker doors in the hot section: does the reverser on the C-17 also reverse the hot air exhaust as well as the cold bypass?

The new pilots will take control of the @99Sqn BEHEMOTH for appx 2-hours each Lifting from @RAFBrizeNorton they fly left and right-handed circuits multiple times, getting a feel for their aircraft Both Visual and Radar approaches are flown, as they aim for the 25 TD zone

#16XAdvent 1: First in! On #Swift Response our advance force Pathfinders jumped into North Macedonia🇲🇰 from 18,000ft from an RAF C-17 that had taken off from @RAFBrizeNorton🇬🇧. Freefall parachuting is used by Pathfinders to insert behind enemy lines to gather key information.

A @99Sqn C-17 from @RAFBrizeNorton landed at @spacecornwall night, carrying @VirginOrbit’s ‘LauncherOne’ rocket. Later this year, Virgin Orbit will launch this rocket into space as part of the first ever space launch from UK soil. The RAF is proud to support this historic event.

Great to be part of this, bringing Virgin Orbit’s ‘LauncherOne’ to the UK last night on a C17. Certainly one of the more different loads our excellent Air Loadmasters and the Movers have transported.
