🍞🌍 Lent Family Fast Day – Friday 27 February 2026 This Lent, Catholics across England and Wales are invited to reflect on what it means to be one global family. Family Fast Day is not simply about giving something up — it is a moment to stand in solidarity with families facing real hunger, rooted in the call of Catholic Social Teaching to uphold human dignity, care for creation and the common good. Across our Caritas Social Action Network, we see every day how families carry both resilience and vulnerability. Fasting invites us to re-centre our lives on Christ, to recognise our interdependence, and to turn compassion into action. Inspired by partners like @CAFOD, we remember families such as Shorai’s in Zimbabwe and Rejoice’s in South Sudan, where local expertise and community solidarity are helping neighbours grow enough to eat despite drought and flooding. Their stories remind us that the challenges of hunger and climate are shared human concerns — and that hope grows when we walk together.
