Airports are no longer neutral spaces. With ICE agents being deployed, routine travel can now carry real risks for undocumented and vulnerable community members. If you are undocumented or out of status, think carefully before traveling. Know your rights. Have a plan.

A witness reported that the attacker briefly confronted and said hostile remarks to the youth before opening fire unprovoked. CAIR-AZ is urging law enforcement to treat the attack seriously and investigate it as a possible hate crime.

In the early hours of March 7th, a group of Muslim youth and children were attacked at the Islamic Center of north Phoenix. A man fired multiple shots with a paintball/pellet gun toward the group of children and nearby vehicles before fleeing. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Ramadan is a time of prayer, safety, and community. Our masajid are sacred spaces, and our community must be prepared. With increased fear and uncertainty around immigration enforcement, knowing your rights is not optional. It is essential.

We will keep monitoring and challenging Islamophobic and discriminatory legislation that targets our community. We remain united. We remain prepared. And we will always defend our right to worship freely.

Alhamdulillah, we have an important update regarding SB 1443, the anti-mosque bill that would have effectively banned the Adhan (Muslim call to prayer) five times a day in Arizona. Today, SB 1443 was killed.

Today, that truth is unmistakable, as immigrant communities face raids and fear under ICE, as Palestinians endure displacement, siege, and collective punishment, and as Black, Brown, Muslim, and marginalized communities are criminalized for existing.

This claim is baseless and rooted in long-standing Islamophobic narratives that seek to delegitimize Muslim civil rights work rather than address real public safety concerns. CAIR is a nationally recognized civil rights organization that has worked to defend constitutional rights

HCM 2002 is a dangerous piece of Arizona legislation that calls on the federal government to falsely label the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as a “terrorist organization.”

Policies rooted in discrimination have real human costs. Families are left waiting, grieving, and forced to navigate uncertainty simply because of where they come from or how they are perceived. No ban should ever come at the expense of human dignity or basic civil rights.
