As we look toward this Saturday’s special election for District C, CAIR Action is continuing our evaluation of the candidates and will reserve a formal endorsement for the runoff. We are grateful to Joe Panzarella and Audrey Nath for their dedicated engagement with Muslim Houstonians thus far. We strongly encourage our community to turn out this Saturday and support these candidates, ensuring our voices remain a vital part of the conversation as this race progresses.

I stand firm in my stance on AIPAC. It is a dark money organization that should have no place in our politics. This is a group that is cheering on Trump and Netanyahu's war that’s driving up gas prices for Californians – a group that attacks progressive Democrats every chance it gets. I’m not going to stop taking on powerful interests. Even if I lose endorsements. Even when groups launch $25 million in attack ads against me. They can come after me all they want. I'm not going to back down.

We welcome law enforcement’s disruption of the alleged plot to assassinate Palestinian-American activist @NerdeenKiswani. No one in our nation should face violence or intimidation because of their identity, advocacy, or political views. This disturbing case underscores the growing climate of harassment, threats, and violence directed at those speaking out on Palestinian human rights and other social justice issues. Such actions not only endanger individuals but also threaten the fundamental freedoms of speech and civic engagement. We urge a full and transparent investigation, appropriate prosecution of those responsible, and continued vigilance by law enforcement to protect all communities from hate-driven violence. Public officials and community leaders must also speak out clearly and consistently against rhetoric that can incite violence and discrimination.
