🌀 Without that money, the Fund for Responding to #LossAndDamage could run dry as early as 2027, forcing Global South countries to keep picking up the bill for a #ClimateEmergency they did little or nothing to cause. ⏰ It’s time to #MakeRichPollutersPay and #FillTheFund!

💰 So what do we need to cover #LossAndDamage finance and other climate justice demands? Obviously, a global wealth tax on extreme wealth could easily raise around US$ 2.5 trillion every year.

👊 When the richest 1% emit as much planet‑heating pollution as two‑thirds of humanity, it’s only fair that they #PayUp4LossAndDamage.

⏰ It’s time for rich, polluting countries to pay their fair share and #FillTheFund!

🚫⚖️ The International Court of Justice’s Advisory Opinion on #ClimateChange is clear: rich, polluting countries have binding duties to prevent harm and address #LossAndDamage. This means climate action and support for #LossandDamage are legal obligations, not optional. ⚖️

⚖️ The resources are clearly available. Governments must redirect money from fossil fuels and war towards communities most impacted by the #ClimateCrisis.

🏭 In 2025 governments also handed out roughly US$ 6.7 trillion in fossil fuel subsidies. Six of the world’s biggest fossil fuel companies are projected to earn about US$ 2,967 in profit every second in 2026.

📢#FillTheFund📢 The start‑up phase of the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD) under the Barbados Implementation Modalities has received 176 funding requests, asking for a total of US$ 2.8 billion. That is more than eleven times the US$ 250 million currently available

Things are hotting up at #SB64. Stepping out of the plenary, Jacobo Ocharan of Climate Action Network explains why the talks are still running late: the biggest fault line remains #Finance. key questions remain on #Adaptation.

In the final hours of #SB64, Parties are still struggling to turn commitments into implementation. As we look ahead to #COP31, this pattern of delay can't continue. Climate action & climate justice, from #JustTransition to #Adaptation Finance, cannot remain promises on paper.

Governments in #SB64 Bonn have a choice. Deliver the adaptation finance and means of implementation already promised, so frontline communities can protect lives and build resilience. Failing to act is a choice too - and people are already paying the price. #ClimateJustice

When Adaptation finance doesn’t reach communities, the health impacts are immediate & deadly. From pregnant women facing extreme heat to patients unable to reach clinics after floods & disasters, climate impacts quickly become health emergencies.
