Urban Search and Rescue (#USAR) is one of the core capabilities of the Canada Task Force program. We frequently hold exercises as a way to bring together the multiple disciplines that make up this capability Check out some scenes from our October exercise

Tonight the #CNTower will dim for 5 minutes at the top of each hour in honour of the fallen Alberta Wildfire firefighter who died while on duty in Jasper National Park.

Our team sends our condolences to the family, friends, and Alberta Wildfire community affected by this tragic loss.

Canada Task Force 2 was honoured to participate in the Wheatland Regional Emergency Management Partnership exercise today in @CityChestermere, @Strathmore_Town , and @Wheatlandcounty. The team worked alongside amazing responders from around the region in this full-scale exercise

Great work by our colleagues at Canada Task Force 1 (@CANTF1) as they join the hundreds of local and regional responders in assisting with the devastating fires in Kelowna.

DEPLOYMENT NOTICE Canada Task Force 2 has deployed a second 8 member Incident Management Team to support the ongoing operations in the Northwest Territories and the City of Yellowknife.

DEPLOYMENT NOTICE Canada Task Force 2 has deployed a 10 member Incident Management Team to help support the City of Yellowknife as they deal with a significant wildfire threat to their community.

Today is Neighbour Day in Calgary as we commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 2013 Southern Alberta Floods. CANTF2 has a display set up at the Genesis Centre in N.E. Calgary until 3pm today.

Canada Task Force 2 remains engaged in wildfire response across Alberta supporting with Incident Management Teams or resources in multiple communities including Fort Chipewyan and Yellowhead County.

This week Canada Task Force 2 deployed an Incident Management Team to the Province of Nova Scotia to support the ongoing response to significant wildfires. The team assisted with reentry planning for the Municipality of Shelburne and the Municipality of Barrington in Southwest NS

Along with the impressive work our crews are doing in @hfxgov communities, our Halifax HUSAR Heavy Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 5 has been deployed to support efforts battling the Shelburne Forest Fires.

Canada Task Force 2 has been engaged around the province of Alberta supporting the ongoing response to this significant wildfire event. Incident Management Team members have been supporting local communities and working alongside first responders from around North America.

There is a wildfire near the hamlet of Entwistle. If you are west of Range Road 65, north of Township Road 530 to Township Road 534, including all residents of Entwistle, you must evacuate immediately. Head west on Highway 16. An update with more details will follow.

**EXERCISE** This week we are running a three day exercise around a simulated earthquake in a small community. CANTF2 was requested as a Medium USAR team and we have 43 members engaged in the scenario. #USAR #DisasterResponse #CANTF2
