Every other tweet is recycled
NBA Twitter is a shell of itself. Random highlights, quote tweet farming, we’ve lost the plot.
People used to become big accounts by putting out creative tweets, inciting discussion, teaching people new things. People tweet for money now, not for the people.
Mobile games are the same way now. Remember the mobile game era in 2012-2016? Games were made for people to enjoy, now it’s just slop after slop. As things become more popular, quality declines.
We’ve stopped valuing what made things fun in the first place. What is the meaning of an app? What is the meaning of a service? What is it that made something special. People are losing their sense of identity to try to conform to others, telling themselves that a lesser product is OK because their friends say so. Look at Stranger Things season 5, the entire thing was garbage but there’s millions that think it’s great.
The downward trend of nearly every single avenue of entertainment is truly sad. Sinners being the most decorated film of all time? Nintendo with the Switch 2 putting out remakes of old games and calling it a day…???
Pixar in the late 2000s and early 2010s released one incredible movie after another. Every movie told a story that both parents and kids could understand and enjoy. Now it’s just slop that is rated as such, but it makes money so they don’t care. Kids can’t even get through the full movies anymore, because their attention span is ruined from doomscrolling and MrBeast.
You can call it nostalgia but at some point it’s just depressing. There’s so much money to be made through media that quantity has overtaken quality and so many haven’t realized it.
