2025 was a powerful year for CAS-One IR. As it closes, we hope you can take a minute and reminisce with us some of the achievements. AblaSure and the re-ablation workflow helped identify, and quickly re-treat, a portion of a tumor and margin that was not met with the first try. The QA Team at Inselspital has been crucial CTAS-One IR users from the early days- especially Anja Lachenmayer. Earlier this year, they passed the 1,000 patients treated mark. We thank them for their dedication to excellence in the aim of reaching 100% of margins for all patients. Along the road they have provided feedback and insights into how to improve CAS-One IR, as well as published multiple studies that are some of the most important evidence supporting Quality Ablation with CAS-One IR. We look forward to the next 1000!

Last week CAS-One IR was nearby in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes at the AFPPE conference in Grenoble, France. Nearly 100 radiographers attended from around the country and attended multiple, in-depth hands-on demonstrations with CAS-One IR. Lesion segmentation, smart margin, ablation confirmation, and re-ablation were specifically discussed in detail – as the mindset is changing away from “navigation” and more to aiming to cover 100% of margins in 100% of patients. We are confident these positive interactions will lead to some new Quality Ablation centers in France in 2026! Thanks to Melissa GOLIN and Philippe Mathieu for leading the way in France

A Skeleton Key. Osteoid Osteoma. Desmoid tumors. Liposarcomas. Bone core biopsies. CAS-One IR has been used to make MSK ablations faster, easier, and better for the patient, since its release. While not the most numerous of cases – we see the usage is growing. We decided to highlight some evidence, guidelines, and cases in this blog post. Link in the comments

CAS-One IR was in Monaco last week at the AngioDynamics International Symposium for Life. It proved to be an excellent decision with a very deep scientific agenda, and lots of great engagements with physicians looking to learn more about how Quality Ablation with CAS-One IR can help achieve 100% margins, in all patients. A special thanks to Ajith Siriwardena for leading the Liver Ablation Consensus meeting, and Thiery Chapelle and Shaheen Noorani for sharing their personal experiences with CAS-One IR on the podium. The Top Case of November is here: A multi-probe RFA 2 HCC was performed successfully with 100% tumor coverage and 100% margin coverage and a MAM of 6mm. Follow-up imaging at 3 months confirmed these results. Thanks to Dr. Olavarria and Dr. Palomera Rico from Ramon y Cajal in Madrid. Dr. AbdulRahman Alvi from Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA) Hospital (and King Abdul Aziz Medical CIty) in Riyadh has performed nearly 20 procedures with CAS-One IR in his department led by DR. SHAKER ALSHEHRI. In the past, the cases were mostly microwave liver ablations, and some challenging biopsies, but today after a difficult ablation case, he had a second patient where he placed three gold marker fiducials high up in the liver dome. Both cases finished before lunchtime. Of all of the different cases, he says "Using CAS-One IR is way faster than our current workflow - the advantages are numerous but the ability to re-plan and re-ablate to ensure margins are met is perhaps the most powerful. I suspect our recurrence rates have been dropping rapidly" Following the in-person support from Thijs Stoker and Stijn Van Hertem during the first 10 cases, Dr. Alvi is now performing cases with remote support. AS-One IR was invited by the Medlife Group to be present in Brasov, Romania (a must visit beautiful city!) during a MedLife event. Demonstrations were given to the administrstion of the MedLife Group – of course the most interest was in planning and ablation confirmation with AblaSure of Liver Tumors, but kidney cryoablation was also a hot topic. Thanks to our esteemed partner Kral Medical Solutions showing off the AI-driven power of CAS-One IR, organized and supported such an interesting event.

CAS-One IR has been used in MSK indications from the beginning. Dr. Carlo Tappero from HFR Fribourg last week did again another osteoid osteoma in the 5th metatarsal - carefully fixating the foot and putting the markers on was no problem. CIRSE 2025 did not disappoint! 4.5 action-packed days kept the CAS-One IR booth full, with over 100 physicians stopping by to learn how CAS-One IR can deliver 100% margins for more patients, in less time. We also kicked off the 4th CAS-One IR Challenge (10th overall!), where over a dozen competitors battled for top spot. Nearly 12,000 patients have been treated globally with CAS-One IR, and last week we were very proud to recognize Dr. Marie Beermann, Dr. Jacob Freedman and the entire team at Danderyds Sjukhus for having treated 1,500 of those patients! New ablation intel unlocked: Now there are nearly 40 publications featuring CAS-One IR – the latest coming from two hospitals in Belgium – Antwerp University Hospital (UZA) and Erasme Hospital – Université libre de Bruxelles. They conducted a retrospective cohort study comparing Ultrasound with CT-guided CAS-One IR in patients with imaging-confirmed HCC. The CAS-One IR group had superior local control and 12-month progression-free survival, particularly in anatomically challenging lesions.
