CATEC High School programs are closed tomorrow, Friday March 20th. So, it's Photo Thursday! 300+ CATEC students have created industry-specific resumes in Career Strategies in the past month. Students will use their resumes for their interview events.

Are we all going a little mad this spring? CATEC students and staff: embrace your March Madness by participating in our Spring Spirit Week. Rep CATEC and your base school, your career of choice, your favorite sports team, and even your best spring outfit.

Have you heard of the Galloway car? It was the first car designed for women by a female-run factory. Dorothee Pullinger designed the car to include the first standard rear-view mirror.

As we continue celebrating Women's History Month, we are highlighting Amelia Simmons, the first known cookbook writer in America. "American Cookery" was published in 1796 and established the tradition of using familiar terms and easily available ingredients for home cooks.

Today we're highlighting the achievements of Martha Matilda, an entrepreneur who developed an international hair care franchise. Her inventions have dictated for years how stylists perform their work and the salon experience.

CATEC High School programs will be closed on Friday, March 6. This week our Personal Finance students participated in a personal finance simulations called Real Money. Real World. Thank you to all volunteers who came to CATEC to help our students better understand their finances.

Clara Barton may be a familiar name to many. She started the first American branch of the Swiss Red Cross organization after many years dedicated to the nursing field.

Congrats to our 2nd March Profile of a CATEC Student, @CvilleSchools @CHSBlackKnights 12th grader Destiny Johson. Destiny is completing her 2nd year in Cosmetology and plans to use those skills as a stylist when in college. She will attend a 4-year university next fall. Congrats!

We're kicking off our salute to Women's History Month! Today we're highlighting Molly Williams, the first known African American female firefighter.

Congrats to @FluvannaSchools 11th grader Caleb Brent for being named our first March Profile of a CATEC Student. Caleb comes from a long line of firefighters and intends on continuing the tradition as a career firefighter. He volunteers at Palmyra Fire Company 1. Congrats!

It's Photo Friday! We wrapped up our recognition of Black History Month with an SCA-sponsored gallery walk. Culinary worked on West Coast Cuisine. Auto Tech 2 students who worked with @givingwordsva to refurbish a vehicle were gifted Wolverine boots.

Marjorie Joyner was an African American female entrepreneur in a time when there were few opportunities in the world. She created and patented a permanent hair wave machine, which shortened the time to do hairstyles and later became the all-important curling iron.

It's Photo Friday! EMT enjoyed reviewing skills with the EMT Olympics. Cosmo 1 examined nail disease and care. Culinary Arts focused on Southern cuisine. Elec participated in Career Strategies. Special thanks to @piedmontvacc reps for sharing info and answering questions.

Estella Massey Osborne was the first African American nurse to earn a master's degree at Columbia University. She later became an assistant professor at NYU.
