SOS: Does anyone on Twitter have experience using #COSMIN in a systematic review to evaluate a measure? I'm struggling with something that the manual doesn't answer.

My first clinical experience was with a wonderful neuropsychologist. First day he hands me some case notes of someone with cognitive symptoms (I don't recall the specifics). They'd had a history of severe depression and ECT. He asked what I thought could be causing their symptoms and I said "Brain damage from ECT". I hadn't read the literature. I had a prejudice. He told me to go read the literature on ECT and get back to him. He was right... and I'm grateful he taught me to allow science to undermine my prejudice.

ECT and Neuronal Injury - no evidence 🧠🚨👇 Following last years study showing neuroplastic effects in dentate gyrus - the latest study just published 👇 “In summary, we found transient increased levels of GFAP suggesting astrocytic reactivity in ECT, but no evidence of neuronal injury as NfL and t-tau remained unchanged during the series. This adds to the existing body of research indicating that an ECT series does not cause brain injury. ❌ Additionally, long-term subjective memory impairment following ECT could not be explained by the studied biomarkers. Our results provide reassuring information to patients and clinicians regarding the safety of ECT.”✅ Paper 👉 nature.com/articles/s4138…

Opening a CK Office at Umthombo Primary School in Mamelodi West today. The principal shared how grateful she is as the educators are now able to refer the learners to our rooms and to carry on with their work, which has also had a significant impact on the educators' wellbeing.

At BABCP 2024, we were part of a symposium celebrating the life, work and influence of Hannah Murry who was an extremely important figure for tCBT and many CBT therapists. We have launched an annual award to remember her values and influence.

I graduated from the University of Glasgow yesterday with a Master of the Arts in History and Sociology with First Class Honours. I want my achievement to be a lesson to admissions offices - Care Experienced people can thrive in university if they are met with understanding.

Found out today that none of the universities I want to go to will have me this year. I thought that all the work I have put in would be enough, but sadly it is isn’t. I have written about it feels to be told over and over that I’m just not there yet. link.medium.com/dml8iHNEC3
