Some sleep hygiene guides recommend against evening exercise - but here we show that 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise ending 90 minutes before bed does not interfere with night-time sleep (at least in healthy, young, adult males). #WTS_ICOH #WTS_CHRONO #ASA_CHRONO

A PhD scholarship is available at CQUniversity's Appleton Institute @CQUni_Appleton in the area of physical activity / health. This one will be based in Rockhampton (in tropical QLD), not Adelaide. Ideally suited to student members of #WTS_ICOH #ACS_Chrono #ASA_Chrono #ASA_OHSP
Corneel Vandelanotte@CorneelVDL

This #PhD #scholarship is still open, not much interest for it to date, it must only be us nerds who are interested in that topic, please retweet (to be clear: this scholarship comes with an annual stipend of $27,500AUD per year for 3 years!)

Yes good point! In the paper, we argued there are two main reasons why it is difficult to substantially advance bedtime: 1. the requirement and/or desire to spend time with family/friends 2. the presence of a physiological 'forbidden zone' for sleep in the evening #WTS_ICOH

I wonder, why the conclusion is not if you have early morning sessions, you'd better adjust your lifestyle so that you get enough sleep. Sleep or Swim? Early-morning training severely restricts the amount of sleep obtained by elite swimmers bit.ly/2IUGBzo

@skyes90239884 WOW!! That baby is sleeping, swimming, and doing the 'sprinkler' dance move all at the same time!!!!! PS. I have a standing bet to win $100 if I can fall asleep breathing through a snorkel with my head submerged - might just send the cash straight to the baby...
