@McFranchisee Soda and non carb water come from the multiplex. Syrup to the ABS is a separate bundle at a multiplex store usually red in color.

@CBXP33 I am at a restaurant right now, where it is teed off of the ABS for one of the lobby fountain machines. Newer one too.

For the lobby, it depends on the hookup. I will use the machine on the right because those syrups are tied off my drive-thru robot. More throughput equals “fresher” carbonated water, which yields a crisper drink.
It really just depends on the fountain setup, if it has its own carbonated water line or circulator pump. The difference is subtle, but if you are there every day, you can tell which one is better.
However, if two different fountain heads taste different in the same machine, it is probably a calibration variable rather than any equipment setup. Each fountain head needs to be calibrated quarterly.

@McFranchisee @McDonalds Speaking of consistency.. I saw this last time you posted about it. Since then I've gone to my local mcd's and noticed the coke on the left is far superior to the one on the right. I asked the worker about it and they said its always been that way

I need to give Europe its due:
Apparently in some countries like France, they have the MegaMcBIB. A 250L container of bulk Coke syrup. For those Americans trying to do the conversion, don’t worry, 🇺🇸 still wins: it’s 66 gallons vs our 75.

@McFranchisee It was not tested for very long since it was the only store in the test. I believe they use something similar for the temporary Olympic location they set up as well.

Great thread on the Coke Freestyle machine. Lots of potential and hype, but I think anyone would admit it's underperformed well below their expectations. I know a number of restaurants that used and moved away.
To be fair, Pepsi had a similar issue with their Spire machine.

@McFranchisee @davidhenkes I used to have some. But they were lost a long time ago. I was at a Subway show and they were trying go get Subway to get them into stores. This was also the same timeframe that the IDC pro was coming out so they were trying to get those in as well.

@McFranchisee @davidhenkes You will not see one. If you think the Freestyle was a flop. The Spire was 10 times worse. The whole system was still bag in box. The back room was a nightmare of syrup boxes. Flavor boxes and lines.

@McFranchisee @tracygarza @WaffleHouse @McDonalds Bulk syrup is US only. They have tried larger packaging for Mcds syrup for other areas but non have worked out. Moving a 65 gallon bag in box of syrup around a store was not ideal.

I don’t know how other markets do it, but here’s how the US works:
Bottler sends syrup to our McDonald’s DC, which drops off our groceries to our McD’s 2-3 times a week.
It’s funny any brand would say they have the “freshest” Coke. I’d love to see their receipts. I highly doubt they have anywhere near the setup to truly have the best Coke. Just weird marketing, if you ask me.

Temperature is key. 🔑 ❄️ @McDonalds keeps both the syrup and carbonated water ice cold—between 33°F and 36°F. The colder the liquid, the more it can absorb carbonation better, so your drink stays fizzy and refreshing longer. That’s why your Sprite burns. Coke’s internal temp recommendation is under 38°F, our standard is higher than cokes. Our syrup is also extremely fresh. We sell so much Coke, it doesn’t come in a 2.5 or 5 gallon BIB but 75 gallon stainless steel barrels 🤯4/8
