Fun fact: it was in the game at launch. They took it out because people didn’t like it.
But a whole decade or so later, times have changed and people want it again 😭
It’s been around so long for gaming habits to change 💀

@VillageVeganUK Countries such as Denmark led the way in European abolition. Wilberforce had more interest in protecting the elite who owned slaves throughout the empire and benefitted from slavery, compared to the British working class, specifically in the north of England

@VillageVeganUK Yes, former slaves we’re moved onto unpaid apprenticeships for 5 years before full emancipation. A lot was taught through the lens of the industrial revolution, navy patrols stopping transatlantic slavers, and Prince Albert’s work alongside American freemen and abolitionists.

Idk when the person OP was talking to went to a school, but when I was in school it was extensively covered.
Biggest focus is on slavery, American independence, and abolition. We also learnt about British Mandatory Palestine and WW1 and the ottoman empire
