The French President Just Reminded The World What Class Looks Like Donald Trump stood in front of a camera and did what Donald Trump does. He mocked Emmanuel Macron’s wife. He put on a fake French accent. He told the world that Brigitte Macron “treats him extremely badly” and that the French president was “still recovering from a right hook to the jaw.” It was the geopolitical equivalent of a man shouting at clouds. Macron was in South Korea when someone asked him about it. He paused. He considered the question with the expression of a man who has just been informed that a golden retriever has urinated on his Bentley. Then he said this: “Neither elegant nor up to standard.” Seven words. That was it. Seven words delivered with the quiet, devastating calm of someone who genuinely does not need to raise their voice because the staff will handle it. It was the verbal equivalent of a single raised eyebrow from a man in a perfectly fitted suit, looking down at someone who has just spilled red wine on the carpet at Versailles. Consider the man on the other end of that eyebrow. A man who wears a red baseball cap to diplomatic meetings and a white one to funerals. A man who arrives at the most solemn occasions in the world looking like he has just wandered in from a golf buggy. A man whose morning routine apparently involves industrial quantities of spray tan applied to a face that has, at various medical estimations, the cardiovascular profile of a blocked Manhattan sewer. A man whose idea of a state dinner is a quarter pounder eaten alone in a motorcade. This is the man who decided to lecture the world about Emmanuel Macron’s marriage. Trump called NATO a “paper tiger.” He mocked a head of state’s wife. He uploaded the whole embarrassing performance to the White House YouTube channel, briefly, before someone in the building apparently remembered that diplomacy exists and pulled the plug. Macron’s response landed like a white glove placed gently on a table. Not thrown. Placed. “Neither elegant nor up to standard.” In French diplomatic circles, that sentence is a declaration of war. In English, it translates roughly to: I have noticed your behavior, and I find it beneath comment, which is why I am commenting on it once, quietly, before returning to matters of actual importance. There is a man in this story who has spent eighty years on this earth and still cannot find a suit that fits, a tie that stops at his belt, or a shade of foundation that occurs anywhere in nature. And there is a man who responded to being publicly humiliated by the most powerful person on earth with seven words and a expression that could freeze the Seine. This means the dollar is screwed. China, as a mediator, will demand that the yuan become the currency for oil trade, and we can bury the dollar and declare a U.S. default in 15 years. )) It only seems like that’s far away.
Just one incompetent person with six bankruptcies behind him managed to bring such a country to its knees in one year. ((

Let me explain something to the MAGA crowd, because clearly someone needs to.
They seem to think NATO is cosmic room service. You pick up the phone, say “hello, we’re having a bit of a war here,” and thirty-one countries march to your rescue. A continental Uber for military adventures.
That is not how it works.
Article 5 is a mutual defense clause. The clue is in the word mutual. And it has been triggered exactly once in NATO’s entire history. After September 11. When America was attacked. Not Europe. America.
Every NATO member showed up. They went to Afghanistan. They fought. They bled. They died. In America’s war. On America’s behalf.
Now imagine they hadn’t.
Over 1,100 allied soldiers died in Afghanistan. British, Canadian, German, Danish, Polish. And yes, even Ukrainian soldiers, who had no NATO obligation whatsoever. Gone. Without them, those are American names on those graves. Sons from Ohio. Fathers from Georgia. Kids from Nebraska who never came home.
Then there is the money. NATO allies spent over 100 billion dollars on a war that started on American soil. Without that, Washington pays every cent. On top of the 2 to 3 trillion the war already cost.
And without allied bases across Europe and Central Asia, American supply lines collapse entirely. Without British forces in Helmand and Canadians in Kandahar, the Taliban reconstitutes in three years instead of ten. The gaps get filled one way. More American deployments. More American coffins arriving at Dover.
Afghanistan was bloody. But NATO took the hit. Without them, every single one of those casualties would have had an American name.
Trump called allies like these losers. Suckers.
If you are a certain kind of broken person, that probably makes sense to you. But for the rest of us, what those soldiers did has a different name. Honor. The bond between men who have been in the same dirt, under the same fire. Between Brits and Americans, Frenchmen and Norwegians, Canadians and Danes. Not a diplomatic relationship. A blood bond. Brotherhood forged in places most people will never see and cannot imagine.
In that culture, you do not mock a fallen ally. You do not sneer at the dead. It is the lowest thing a human being can do. Trump did it to a standing ovation.
If you are a MAGA supporter travelling to NATO countries, understand this. There are no friendly pats on the back waiting for you. No one will buy you a beer. The governments who share your worldview sit in Minsk, Moscow and Pyongyang. Brutal dictatorships where journalists disappear, elections are theatre and dissent is a medical condition treated in basements. Not London. Not Paris. Not Rome, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin or Ottawa.
You have abandoned the open societies, the free press, the rule of law, the places where people actually want to live. You traded the best of civilization for a very small, very dark room. Frankly, it serves you right.

Эта команда решила создать конкурента ООН. С момента появления его т.н. "мирного совета" Трамп нанёс больше военных ударов, чем Байден за весь срок. Каждый раз, когда вспыхивает напряжённость, где-то в мире взрываются бомбы, отвлекая внимание от внутренних дел в стране.
Бомбить больше, чтобы побеждать больше. Нет ни одной страны, где Трамп не использовал бы ситуацию, чтобы обогатиться, не забывая о своей семье.
Личный самолёт Boeing, подаренный Катаром. Инвестиции во все проекты в Персидском заливе и за его пределами. Манипуляции на фондовом рынке, от которых выигрывают лишь посвящённые...

Трамп не просто президент, Трамп - символ деградации Америки. Ее избирательной системы, здравомыслия, гуманизма, демократических институтов и глубинного народа, давно поменявшего азбуку на смит-вессон. Только люди с огромным комплексом неполноценности, открытой завистью и тайной ненавистью к окружающим, умеющие гораздо лучше стрелять чем читать, могли себе выбрать вождем персонажа больше похожего на раздутый рыжий шар, чем на человека. Он витает постоянно в облаках собственной значимости, с презрением смотрит на прочих землян,недостойных его величия и готов лопнуть в любой момент от клинического самомнения.
ЗЫ. А еще он работает на Кремль. Косвенно или напрямую, уже не имеет никакого значения. Он делает все, чтобы хорошему парню путину было удобней грабить, насиловать и убивать.
