HRW and SRW winter wheat regions are telling different precipitation stories. Over the last 60 days, HRW production areas have remained drier than SRW areas in production-weighted accumulated precipitation through April 15, 2026, making the next 7 days an important period to monitor. This chart shows U.S. winter wheat class production-weighted accumulated precipitation over the prior 60 days. HRW, which accounts for 54.4% of winter wheat production, has received 3.41 inches of precipitation and is running at a 0.57-inch deficit relative to climatology. SRW, which accounts for 31.5% of production, has received 6.50 inches and is at a smaller 0.29-inch deficit. SWW is running a 1.15-inch surplus over the same period, while HWW is at a 0.49-inch deficit. With HRW and SRW precipitation trends still diverging, near-term precipitation will remain important to monitor. #OATT #AgWx #AgWeather #Wheat #WinterWheat #HRW #SRW #Drought #Weather
