@electric_seals I'm sure we'd have an interesting conversation or two.

@CBradleyThomps1 Hmm, maybe we'll meet each other one day more distant.

A response to Sir Roger Scruton--
If there is a single most deplorable intellectual failing on the conservative side, it lies in its inability to provide a moral basis for capitalism.

“If there is a single most deplorable intellectual failing on the conservative side, it lies in reducing every question of law, constitution, culture and society to a question of economics.” Sir Roger Scruton

@electric_seals I'm not sure I'm following you, here. Of this, though, I'm certain: I can always think more clearly than I often do.
English

@CBradleyThomps1 I'm more conservative these days and I have many more failing than that.
Maybe I don't think so well as you, but I also don't think you can think the world more clearly.
If that makes sense.

No! This chart is the result of socialism.
Anthony Pompliano 🌪@APompliano
The rise of socialism in America is a direct result of this chart.

This hits hard. My 93-yr-old father was born out of wedlock in a small cabin with no electricity or running water in northern Quebec. He's in the hospital now & has seemingly lost his cognitive functions. Something happened to me today, and he'll probably never know about it. I wish he could know that his son did something good.

They say a father is the one person who quietly roots for you to outgrow him—to go further, do better, and live bigger than he ever could. There’s something really powerful in that. 🥹💕

@CBradleyThomps1 A love this poem. It reminds me of Kipling.
I don't know how you can think that fluidly or creatively on an airplane. I was flying last week and could barely keep reading the Milton Friedman book I brought with me (maybe that was the problem!).
Brilliant poem.

"Step Forward"
A poem from The Redneck Intellectual. It's not Tennyson, but it tries to say something meaningful & important.

“Capitalism shouldn’t be anywhere near Christianity. Christianity is socialism at its core.”
No. Socialism, at its core, is about collectivism, statism, and totalitarianism.
Christianity, at its core, is about individuals and freedom.
Capitalism itself is amoral. Under Christian moral constraints, it can and has created unprecedented wealth for the largest numbers of people. Without those constraints—as seen in Communist China—it can and has become a tool to enrich the state and few elites by maximum exploitation of the powerless.
This isn’t my opinion. It’s my lived experience.
