@cbokhove @SmartJacques @UoNSoE We're planning three longitudinal cohort studies comprising national surveys and institutional case studies. One will start with year 7 and track pupils to year 11 so this should give insight to the KS3 dip question.

@CBrignell @SmartJacques @UoNSoE We have our suspicions why students 'drop out' (some in the current report) but another thorough look why pupils become disenchanted w/ maths, especially KS3, useful.

@peterrowlett At least the question acknowledges there are multiple answers. This week we had "3 x 4 = ? - ?" The answer they were looking for was "48-36" obviously. Cue dejected child because they got the question "wrong" as they didn't pick the 1 in infinity choice of "correct" answer.

What numbers could you put in the gaps to make this? The prompt says “Can you find them all?”, providing yet more evidence than numbers >20 don’t exist.
