Sometimes the most important thing you can give someone is a place where they feel comfortable being themselves. Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins attended the PrideWorks conference at Purchase College, where students and community members came together to learn and support one another. Through workshops and conversations, participants explored topics such as mental health, identity, and advocacy, all with the goal of creating environments where LGBTQ+ youth can feel safe and respected. That sense of support can shape how someone sees themselves and their future. It can influence how they show up in school, how they connect with others and how they move through their communities.
