Since coming to The League, one of the real blessings for me has been getting to know Pastor Ramsey Tripp and his wife, Kristin. They’re real about life. They love the Lord, they love each other, and they’re faithful in what God has called them to. This Mother’s Day conversation is Ramsey sitting down with Kristin to talk about motherhood—but it’s really an honest look at marriage, family, faith, and the calling God has placed on their lives. There’s something uniquely powerful about a mother’s love. It shapes lives, steadies homes, and reflects the kind of care God designed from the beginning. Kristin shares from real experience—the highs and lows—with honesty, wisdom, and deep faith. Take a few minutes to listen. I think you’ll be encouraged.

Anchored Ep. 65 - John Davis, Life Church in Norridgwock “Weeping may endure for the night, but you keep praising, you keep worshiping, you keep magnifying the Lord, and joy will come. Joy will come. Peace will come. The answer will come. Just stand on the Word today because God is faithful. Your family can make it. You can survive because if God be for you, who can be against you?”

Anchored Ep. 64 - Bob Emrich, Emmanuel Bible Baptist in Plymouth “I earnestly request the people of this state to devote the day to… meditation, repentance, and prayer, recognizing our continual need of His saving power in Christ, that we may so humble ourselves before God as to be spared the chastisement which our sins deserve, and obtain the blessings of His grace upon ourselves, our country, and our fellow men.” - Joshua Chamberlain

Anchored Ep. 61 - Kirk Winters, The Rock Church in Bangor “As followers of Jesus, our calling is clear. We are, as it says in 2 Corinthians 5:20, ‘ambassadors for Christ.’ That means how we speak, what we post, how we act must reflect His character, not just our convictions.”

Ministry in the Marketplace: How One Maine Family Runs Their Greenhouse for God’s Glory Nick Adolphsen sits down with Katherine Young of Young’s Greenhouse in South Paris, Maine — a thriving, multi-generational family business with 14 greenhouses and four acres under cover. What started as a way for dairy farmers to supplement income has grown into one of Maine’s largest greenhouses, offering perennials, annuals, vegetables, succulents, hanging baskets, and more. But this episode goes far beyond plants. Katherine shares how their family seeks to honor Christ in every aspect of business — from playing Christian music and hosting gospel-centered community events with Mossbrook Church, to responding with humility to difficult customers, stewarding resources generously, and raising their children to work with integrity. Together they explore biblical principles of work from Genesis, the challenges and blessings of family business, the counter-cultural power of multi-generational faithfulness, and practical ways the church can pray for Christian business owners in the marketplace. Whether you own a business, work in retail, or simply want to live out your faith more fully where God has placed you, this conversation will encourage you to see everyday work as high and holy calling — tending the garden for God’s glory

The Christian Civic League of Maine stood before the Judiciary Committee to testify in support of LD 2239. In her testimony, Holly Lusk reminded lawmakers that the truth of male and female is written into God’s creation, confirmed by biology, and essential for protecting the safety, privacy, and fairness owed to girls and women in sports, locker rooms, and beyond. Denying biological reality brings confusion, not compassion. Affirming truth is an act of love. Although the legislature rejected the bill, Maine voters now have the opportunity to protect our daughters and restore sanity this November. We urge every voter to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

Anchored Ep. 59 - Ken Macleod, Community of Grace Church “Personal autonomy has value, but it also has many limits. Unless we all surrender to some kind of authority in our lives, personal autonomy will descend into anarchy or the government response to anarchy, which is usually tyranny. For the Christian, we order all authority with God as the head over all things. As we surrender to the authority of Jesus—who laid down His life in obedience to the Father and was raised in vindication—He becomes head over all things to the Church, enabling us to seek the flourishing of others within the good limits God has written into the universe.”

Anchored Ep. 58 - Matt Gioia - The Pines Church in Bangor “As Christians, we’re not looking for the church to run the government, but we absolutely should want godly principles, truth, justice, integrity, the value of life, to inform how we lead and legislate. … Government does not grant the church its authority, God does, and our responsibility isn’t to retreat, it’s to represent Christ boldly and wisely in every sphere, including public life.”

Anchored Ep. 57 - Matthew Harvey, Calvary Chapel Safe Harbor in Searsport “It’s important to earn the right to be heard. …It’s important for them to be heard first, and then you’ll be amazed at how their heart opens to what you have to say. Let them speak first… and then look for the opportunity to share the gospel. Whether they’re from away or born and raised here in Maine, they need the gospel. It’s the only hope we have.”

Pastor Josh Howerton (@howertonjosh) offers a powerful challenge on the Live Free Podcast: “There is not one square inch of the universe over which Christ does not stand and cry, ‘Mine.’” If godly people don’t engage in politics and culture, godless ideas will fill the void. Satan doesn’t sit on the sidelines — why should Team Jesus? He reminds us: 40 million Bible-believing Christians stay home in presidential elections… yet some races are decided by less than 1 million votes. A tiny fraction vote in midterms. That silence has consequences for our families, our freedoms, and the future of the Church. We are called to be the salt of the earth, not just the salt of the church. Our engagement today shapes the cultural inheritance we leave our kids and grandkids — and how easy or hard it will be for the next generation to fulfill the Great Commission. As a dad, Pastor Josh puts it plainly: “I’m unwilling for my kids to live in a much harder world… and then look back and ask why their dad didn’t try to do something about it.” At the Christian Civic League of Maine, we’re equipping believers to live out their faith in every square inch — protecting life, strengthening families, defending religious freedom, and reshaping government and culture with Biblical truth. Maine needs Christians who show up. Will you answer the call? Listen to the Live Free Podcast with Josh Howerton. Anchored Ep. 56 - Steve Christner, Calvary Baptist in Turner “So often what our legislators hear is… somebody that’s not even from Maine. They’re high-paid lobbyists pushing some agenda… But our legislators are there for us. We’re the ones that vote for them, and they need to hear from the voters… They need to hear a wife that raises their children [and] goes grocery shopping, your concerns. They need to know a pastor that’s pastoring your people and your concerns. They need to meet a man that gets up in the morning and pays their mortgage and goes to work… They need to know your concerns, where you live, things that are important to you.”

A massive 8–1 win at the U.S. Supreme Court today—striking a blow against censorship and affirming our fundamental freedoms of speech and religion. The message is clear: the government does not get to control what you say or believe. But what’s next for Maine? Will @GovJanetMills, @ryanfecteau, and @MattieforMaine act to bring Maine law in line with the Supreme Court's action? Below is the full statement from the Christian Civic League.
