Tomorrow is World Down Syndrome Day (3/21), symbolizing the 3 copies of the 21st chromosome. ECC students and staff celebrated today by wearing colorful, mismatched socks, a common tradition to show support and celebrate differences!

Feeling the March Madness energy? Cloverdale students are, too. They’re taking part in a schoolwide Book Challenge, voting on the Elite 8 most checked-out books. Watch 4th graders react to today’s Final 4 unveiling! The ultimate champion will be announced tomorrow!

Next week and the week after spring break, CCSD93 schools will collect donations for the Community-Wide Food Drive, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carol Stream, supporting local pantries. Please consider donating the goods shown here. Any contribution makes a difference!

Recently, Stratford Dual Language students visited their Elsie Johnson counterparts to celebrate bilingualism, reading with younger peers and collaborating across classrooms. The visit honored the dedication it takes to learn two languages. ¡Felicidades a todos!

Carol Stream 5th graders held a mock election in the Innovation Center as part of their Civic Rights and Responsibilities unit. After researching candidates, students voted in races that included all candidates appearing in Tuesday’s primary contests.

Today, Jay Stream partnered with Junior Achievement to host a Career Fair with 35+ professionals sharing their career paths with students. From law enforcement and engineering to veterinary medicine, marketing, healthcare and much more, Jayhawks explored future possibilities!

Heritage Lakes 3rd graders have been exploring inventors & scientists & will soon learn how food goes from farm to table. Today they interviewed retired ag scientist Susan Rice, whose 40-year career spanned plant tissue culture, wheat engineering & insect-resistant corn!

Carol Stream 5th graders recently created interactive book covers on Code.org, then chose to keep exploring computer programming with Blockly and Dot & Dash robots. It’s great to see their curiosity lead the way as they apply their learning in a hands-on way!

Western Trails students got an inside look at real-world financial skills on Friday! Thanks to our partnership with Junior Achievement, local bankers & high school students visited classrooms to lead hands-on lessons about money, careers & what it takes to succeed.

Last week, Jay Stream hosted its annual Talent Show, and our students amazed us with singing, tumbling, music, yo-yo tricks, magic and so much more. Thanks to everyone who shared their skills!

Stratford Middle capped off Trimester 2 with a high-energy celebration today! Students showed their spirit through chants, team colors & lively games like trivia, Pictionary & basketball challenges, earning points for teamwork and enthusiasm.

Boys Volleyball season is wrapping up at both middle schools, and our 7th & 8th graders keep leveling up their skills and showing top-notch sportsmanship. Yesterday, Stratford hosted Glenside for a great home matchup. We’re so proud of these athletes growing on & off the court!

It’s March Book Madness at Carol Stream! This year’s bracket features ocean-themed titles tied to the schoolwide theme “Dive Deep, Discover More, Swim Together!” It’s all going swimmingly as students dive into reading in the Innovation Center & get ready to vote for the champion.
