@ladyakery Couldn't agree more. Yes, there is opportunity in SS curriculum to do better. I also think that celebrating black achievements in the fields of math and science are low hanging fruits. It should just be normal that we do these things.

P4: I think it is worth saying that I think some people think we have #BHM for the benefit of black children. I want to push back on that. I know that I benefit when I learn more about cultures I am not a part of. I become a better, smarter person. #ChatWithCCT

P3: I've really been digging Bookmarks on Netflix. I've learned about a lot of new (to me) authors, illustrators, and creators from watching that show with my kid at home. We've even bought some of the books for our home library. #ChatWithCCT

If it is true for personal history, it can be true for our national and world history as well. Perspective matters, it helps us see clearer and think deeper.

P2: It's true and it's personal. Think of a family story you've heard since you were little. Have you ever heard that story from another perspective? Would your own family story change when you consider another perspective? I think it might. #ChatwithCCT
