That’s a wrap for the #Cancer Data Community of Practice Workshop! A few themes emerge as challenges and opportunities: ➡️ Interprovincial barriers to data sharing can be an obstacle. Enthusiasm is high for collaboration across Canada when these barriers are removed. ➡️ Data literacy is needed at all levels to work productively and collaboratively. ➡️ Canada risks being left behind when it comes to health data – but that doesn’t have to be the case. ➡️ Cancer is poised to be an example of what we can achieve in health data. Welcome to Breakthrough Grant recipient Dr Francis Rodier! Dr Rodier is working with a multi-institutional team to study cell dormancy in #ovarian #cancer. The researchers will use novel technologies to test treatment strategies that target weak points in dormant cancer cells, improving outcomes for the #OvarianCancer community. Two of the @cancersociety Breakthrough Team Grant projects aim to address gaps in care for people living with advanced cancer, funded in partnership with @BrainCanada. The third grant focuses on understanding and treating cancer cell dormancy to lower the risk of recurrence and improve survival.
