I am proud to announce that APGA has officially recommenced its membership registration and revalidation exercise, in line with the Electoral Act. My wife, Dr Nonye, and I led by example, being the first to undergo the process, we have revalidated our membership of the foremost Progressives party in Nigeria. This digital transformation is a game-changer, setting APGA apart as a pioneer in Nigerian politics. We are not just updating our records; we are building a robust, credible party structure. With National Identification Number (NIN) integration as stipulated by the new electoral Act, we are ensuring the integrity of our membership data base. I urge all APGA members to take advantage of this opportunity to cement their place in our party and encourage new members to join the movement. The registration and revalidation process is seamless and we have simplified it so much that no one will be left behind. See the last slide for details!

I had the pleasure of receiving Kanyeyachukwu (“Kanye”) Tagbo-Okeke, accompanied by his parents, at the Governor’s Lodge at the Light house in Awka. Kanye is an exceptional young autistic artist, global advocate, and Guinness World Record holder, proudly from Amichi, Nnewi South LGA, Anambra State. He has channelled his lived experience of mild Autism Spectrum Disorder into a powerful record of excellence and impact. On 2 April 2025 - World Autism Awareness Day - he unveiled Impossibility Is a Myth at Eagle Square, Abuja: a monumental 12,303-square-metre canvas that surpassed the previous record of 9,560 square metres. Even more striking, he achieved this feat in four months, improving on the former record timeline of seven months. At just eight years old, he also became the youngest Black recipient of the Flame of Peace Award in Vienna, Austria. Looking ahead, on 17 March 2026, Kanye will commence a 100-mile endurance ride across Anambra State, part of a wider journey beginning in Enugu and culminating in Lagos on 2 April, to mark World Autism Awareness Day. I deeply commend his parents for their steadfast support, sacrifice, and belief. When we raise awareness, we deepen understanding and foster empathy, dignity, and inclusion. Stories like Kanye’s remind us that progress is built through deliberate, sustained support, and that remarkable achievements often emerge where society least expects. Our duty is clear: to recognise the unique potential in every child, and to provide the encouragement and opportunities they need to thrive.

As I shared at the South East Development Commission's Vision 2050 planning forum, I believe our regional development plan should be more indicative than prescriptive. We need a plan that attracts investment, unites stakeholders around common goals, and focuses on delivering tangible results. A Marshall-style Plan for the South East could be the way forward - a focused, time-bound agenda that addresses our region's unique challenges. Here are three key areas I'd like to see us prioritize: 1. Regional security: A shared framework, sustainable funding, and advanced surveillance capabilities to keep our communities safe. 2. Infrastructure: Super highways, rail lines, gas pipelines, power plants, and seaports to drive economic growth and connectivity. 3. Institutional framework: Strong coordination and execution across states, working closely with the Southeast Governors. Let's work together to make this vision a reality. Collective action and strong leadership are key to unlocking the South East's potential. May Alaigbo Prevail!

I am impressed by the clinical compliance to our directives by Traders of the Onitsha Main Market. In the last five years Onitsha main market has remained shut on Mondays. Yesterday, by the sheer will of our people, the jinx was broken! The market bustled like never before and the joy exuded by the traders was palpable. Indeed, history has been made today and the self-defeating Monday sit-at-home has been trashed into the dustbin of our regrettable history. Chukwu na eme ife na’adighi ekwe omume. May Anambra continue to win!

Today, I addressed the press on the current situation at the Onitsha Main Market. As Governor, it's my duty to ensure the economic stability and security of our state. We cannot allow a few individuals to dictate the pace of our economy. May Anambra continue to win!

Yesterday, I joined the 2026 African Finance Corporation (AFC) Staff Retreat in Lagos, alongside esteemed leaders like former President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, and Tony Elumelu. It was a privilege to be part of a gathering that reflected on AFC's journey, reaffirmed its mission, and charted strategic priorities for the future. I am humbled by the kind words about my role in the founding of AFC and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to shaping African-led financial institutions that drive infrastructure and economic development. Let's continue to build on our collective strengths to create a brighter future for our continent.

Today, I have ordered the shut down of the Onitsha Main Market for one week due to the protracted economic sabotage cloaked as "Monday sit-at-home". Going forward, this order would apply to any other market in Anambra that shuts down on Monday. This action is not taken lightly, as I am determined to protect the economic interests of our state and its people. No individual or group has the right to halt the lives and livelihood of the people. I urge all traders and market stakeholders to disregard this call to economic sabotage and resume business as usual. Let us work together to build a prosperous Anambra. To those who continue to aid and abet this economic sabotage, I warn that we will not tolerate it any further. Our government will take all necessary measures to ensure the security and safety of lives and property in the state. I call on all residents of Anambra to go about their normal business activities without fear. We will continue to do everything possible to protect our economy and ensure that our state remains a hub for business and investment. Let us stand together against economic sabotage and build a brighter future for our state. May Anambra continue to win!
